A FISH A CAST | LURE FISHING FOR BASS | THIS LURE HAD THEM GOING CRAZY!

- In this video, I head out before work one morning to target some bass on lures.
Firstly, I'd be using a surface lure, the ever reliable, Patchinko 125. After see a fish swirl behind the lure but not fully commit, I then switched to a soft plastic, the Shad from Drift Official which has been doing well for me lately.
Soon after doing this, I then had the fish switched on which provided some great fishing to start the day off.
These Shad lures come in a weedless and non weedless version. The non weedless version proved to be the better lure on this occasion and I enjoyed some really fun fishing with it.

Hi Cal, good to see you back out , soft rubbers work well all the time, when you confidence has gone on the shallow surface lures do try the “ Tackle house feed shallow +28 P4 green sand eel “ it never lets me down especially this time of the yr , all the best 👍
Yeah the soft lures have worked well lately. Lots of bait fish in the water so always a good choice this time of year. The few shallow is a good lure yeah, expensive, but good. Cheers 👍🏼

Great video! I caught a nice bass that threw up a whole, freshly caught squid. It was so fresh I could have used it as bait 😮
@@frags69 Haha, yeah that’s not uncommon. I once gutted a mackerel and it had a squid near on the same size of itself in its stomach.

@@Cavanpikefishing Cheers. Yeah, you don’t need a mega expensive rod for general lure fishing. If it’s matched with the right other equipment then you should be able to find a set up at a reasonable price.
@@FISHINGWITHCAL i have a few rods there for the trout and perch and pine rods but id say you can use any light rods
Nice vid good sport of fish.
I own vanford and recommend gomexus round handle Eva and gomexus line roller with bearing. The stock handle is poor and the bush on the line roller is trash. Happy fishing cal.
@@adamfavsvidc Thanks. Yeah I have round handle on my other reels. I kept the original on the vanford because I liked to have a change every now and then. Mine was serviced recently and seems to be ok, I’ve heard a few poor reviews on the vanford though. When I first bought it, it was smooth as butter. Still a great reel in my opinion.
