This content is stunning, thank you! Maya is so full of life, much more than Marie-Agnes. Her facial expressions are wonderful and communicative, while Marie is only trying to recreate the arms movements... so sad. I think Marie’s problem is in her hands. The hands are very big, but she also uses them “wrong”, moving the wrist way too much.... I remember one lesson I saw here on CZcams of Alina Somova being coached on Odette variation, and the teacher spent a very long time on the wrist movement... by the way thank you for sharing
I agree with the arms... Way beyond proportion. But I can't think of anyway other way to utilize them aesthetically. I've noticed many of the principals and etoiles of Gillets era have similar body types: long broad shoulders, long arms (big wrists).

Maya did say "idiot prince"...she was translating the emtions Marie-Agnes was supposed to be conveying as Odile (who thinks everyone is an idiot, because she's a b*tch). You're thinking of "il y a" which means "it is", as we see in Maya's sentence later on ("il n'y a pas Odette"..."it is not Odette")
What a master lesson in understanding that what the character is thinking is critical in classical ballet. Marvelous Maya ❤️
