I started watching Hospital Playlist immediately right after I finished Mr. Sunshine. It was an unbelievable change of character. Whenever I watch him all caring in a hospital gown, I always forgot how much he yields his sword in Mr. Sunshine.

I think it’s because he’s in a lot of good dramas that is really popular in Korea but not really watched overseas. Like he’s in the reply series, hospital playlist, Mr. sunshine, all these have done so well In Korea and he’s a very reknown actor in Korea. But most of my friends in America say the reply series are boring and they breeze past Mr. sunshine to other dramas. That’s perhaps why many international fans don’t know him so he’s “underrated” to the international audience

No one can beat Gu Dong Mae, one of the best role he ever played. From being a bad guy to someone who's willing to risk his life just to protect the only girl he ever love. From makeup,costumes,speaking in japanese the action scenes and of course he's acting. 😍😍😍

Yoo Yeon Seok always slays any role. I admire his passion & versatility. I love Dr. Kang and Andrea but I guess portraying GU Dong Mae is on another level. Its legendary ! He really did an excellent job as GDM. ( Mr Sunshine )That's his first kdrama that I watched and I can't move on in his acting skills so i searched his other kdrama. Now, he made us fell in love to kindhearted Ahn Jeong Won .He really works hard to learned how to play drums. The duality of YYS is no joke. It doesnt matter if YYS is antagonist or protagonist, he can definitely give justice to his character.

I like ‘kang dong-joo’ as his best character ever! clever, strong and decisive. I actually think he will have the same character as Kang dong-joo in the Hospital Playlist since he’s back being a doctor but it turned out otherwise lol

And the best thing about Kang Dong Joo is he is true to his root. He is not an angel without flaws character, so it makes him relatable.
And my favorite line from him is when a girl asks why he becomes a doctor and he replies doctor is the only thing he could do. And it inspires me a lot. Maybe I couldnt get my dream job, but I could love my current job and being grateful for having any skill(at least).

Dong Mae in Mr Sunshine. Epic and great acting. He had the best chemistry with the lead actress. Fighting skills were superb and he interchanged lines between korean and japanese beautifully. His portrayal of the King in the Royal Tailor with the Queen of k-dramas Park Shin-hye is also one of the best.
lord the RANGE this man has is INSANE. he literally deserves to be counted amongst the top actors in South Korea for the work he’s done. you’d find most of the top actors doing very similar kinds of work almost every time but he’s so versatile even if he’s playing a doctor again

When the very first time I saw him in "Warm and Cozy" I didn't feel something special with this guy. But after that I accidentally watched some his film as supporting role, I my interest in him growing slowly, and in Romantic Doctor Teacher Kim, I am in love with YYS's acting. My love grown bigger when I saw him as Go Dong Mae, this is legendary for me, top of the top, and I start to watch his films and dramas again and again, and also his Coffee Friends project make me love him even more.

What so good about yys is when he act you only can saw the character he acts at the moment. No baggage of previous character or his own character. The mannerism, aura, even how he looks are very different. Very admirable.
He is really very good. An underrated actor which deserves recognition. And though I am amazed with all of his character portrayals, I love him for being Dr. Ahn Jeongwon the most. I cant wait to see him again in Hospital Playlist season 2. Saranghae Yeon Sok Oppa.

*1. Gu Dong Mae (MR. SUNSHINE) which I think is also his best role & career highlight (so far), he was so multi-dimensional and complex, even a bit of a villain, but he gets you to feel empathy for him and love him.
2) Kang Dong Joo (Romantic Doctor Kim)
3) Ahn Jungwon (HOSPITAL PLAYLIST) - so cute with kids!
He learnt to play drums for this role too! 🤷🏾♀️ Sheesh! Is there anything he can't do?! P.S. he has played doctors so many times haha.
4) Chilbong (Reply 1994) - My 2nd lead syndrome was strong!

This quarantine, I binge-watch most of dramas and even movies YYS starred in. I could say Gu Dong Mae is my favorite. He really can make us hate him at one, then love him in another. He deserve recognition!

He nailed the character of dong Mae. He was so perfect his looks, ,his eyes, his acting everything was amazing and beautiful. I could feel the pain, hatred, anger, concerns, sadness and love in his eyes for ae shin. I cried hard when he died. He was smiling . The last line when he said 'you have paid me enough now don't come ', I felt he was going to die but I was not prepared to see him die... It's been two days since I have completed the serial and I am unable to get over dong Mae. I am thinking about him. The cinematography and the actors are so perfect that it feels like you are inside this show. It doesn't feel fake like the one being played on your phone or laptops. It feels so real that it is actually happening and you yourself are witnessing everything, like you are a part of this series... I don't know why this drama is underrated, this is a masterpiece for me, and Idt any drama could replace Mr sunshine's aura..
