this is amazing! The flashlight kills it a bit but I still want to have a no light ride myself
I should have done one part without the torch, but the train is so dark you wouldn't see anything.
@@benolifts TFL is so bankrupt, they didn't pay the light bill. 😂😂😂
@@realfrowz it was probably just a fault with the wiring
@@realfrowz good one!
@@realfrowzeiii, bokoor di3?
Love it that the passengers don't seem to be bothered!
Train driver forget to turn the light on when setting up the train for the day 😂
Lol.
😂😂
finally another London Underground video. that's a rare event i don't know how do you a day decided to go to the underground and you found a train with lightning off. i like this video
Sorry for english 😅
Interesting! Last week I rode a BART train car that was lights out 50% of the ride intermittently. This was an original refurbished BART type C car with the original motor drive type (you can tell by the sound). Bart has third rail on either side; I think it was the third rail paddles - both of them on one side were broken off or that circuit was out or something like that. It was silent when stopped, when also dark, except for an air compressor sometimes (normal for when third rail contact in some cars is lost). Sometimes only the traction motor drive could be heard when dark. I think I've only seen that 50% thing one other time in 35 + years!
That underground noise fills me with memories. You should do this again, but without the flash to receive the full effect.
i want a dark ride like that.
@@SamSitarIt would be a dream come true for perverts 😂
"ride the train in the dark....."
leaves flash on.

I want to try this myself because it's scary and I love scary things especially on the London Underground. It’s a shame I missed this when I was near Kings Cross St Pancras
This is very rare. I have been travelling on the underground since I was born, and this is the first time this has happened for me.
I'm so jealous that looks really fun
Now there's something you don't see everyday ! That's Sick! I'm ngl 🤩
That actually looks much nicer than being flooded with artificial light
This happened to me once. After a few stations of fun I ran up and told the driver and he turned the light on.
This is a case of everyone believing the driver knew - which is more concerning because it highlights human nature. A driver would never be allowed to run without lights.
as long as the exterior lights / headlights work I don't see the problem?
@@RWL2012 Its a health and safety concern. Also it needs to be bright and visible for people with disabilities and impaired vision
Love the sound of the motor drive firing up. So far I’ve only rode a few trams but the startups were amazing.
Bombardier MITRAC never disappoints
The 2009 stock has the same noise with the S7 and S8 stock
@StewartMC The noise reminds me of Dallas, Texas DART Kinkisharyo LRV’s. So far that and the NYC subway are really the only big trams I’ve rode on.
Jubilee Line also has a good start up sound
Off topic I know, but apparently TfL rail trains that now terminate at Heathrow T2/3 (which used to terminate at Hayes I believe?) will run empty to T4 and then re enter service. Would be interesting to check out
I took one of these trains last week to T2 from Paddington... I'm pretty sure they will be rebranded as part of the Elizabeth Line(the carriages were new and sporting purple and black interiors. £10 for the journey vs £25 for the same journey on the Heathow Express.
@@stevencipriano3962 Its same with the piccadilly line, trains which are meant to go to T4 will terminate at Hatton Cross and the trains will run empty around the T4 loop back to T2/3
@@progamingderash4566 just a shame that the conductor detrains at HC. Understand why but still :(, unless..? (Edit: I managed to get video of the loop, but the angle is so poor I’m debating on whether to go back and do it again)
@@Concerned7Person How did you manage to get a video of the loop?
I'm getting Pyongyang Metro vibes here.
This happened to me on the bakerloo line a few weeks ago, but only in the carriage I was in
Slightly worrying because the lights are there for all kinds of safety reasons, not to mention potential offences of the sexual nature. The lack of platform staff and the driver not spotting this is all the more concerning. If the lights have fused, the train shouldn't be in service quite simply. What if someone got injured and they couldn't see the emergency stop button for example. That for me is a clear de-train situation. The vic line has enough trains to cover itself. Shouldn't happen in a modern safe transport network. Fun - absolutely of course - perhaps TFL should run some Halloween trains for special fares with limited lighting.....
This was almost certainly because the driver forgot to turn the lights on. The train wouldn't be running if it had a fault. Also I can't see what fault would turn off all lights in the entire train while everything else was working fine. In London nobody gets involved a lot of the time. On this occasion everyone was probably thinking the driver should be told, but nobody wanted to bother telling the driver. People are too busy doing what they need to do, and nobody wants to be the one where attention is focused on them. Urbex is easier in London because of this.
@@benolifts A good summary of this country dare I say it! In all seriousness, TFL could make a few quid back with running some special services without the lights on for those interested. Not to mention, saving electricity and all the points associated with that another reason for folks keeping quiet.
Oh my god!!... 😱
Omg the sex offender part got me having second thoughts about getting on a dark train. 🤔
I wish the tubes would operate in dark conditions. Less heat, more cosier and easier to fall asleep in as well as eyes being more well adjusted in an emergency. Plus saving electricity and the planet. A niche and probably unpopular concept but still a cool one.
Wow you could get mugged in there!
That would be dead cool too have a ride on lol
Unusual to see things like this on the Tube.
WHOS HOLDING KFC?!!!

@@mohantheivendiran181 I don't understand why this words mean 'WTF'?
Quite scary being on that.
Is a curse of Victoria line! 😱
I rode a 165 on the Greenford branch with no light and when it got to the tunnel it was quite nice
I guess this beat the 1972 stock to the title 'First train journey in the 2000s where the train is completely dark'!
how does this even happen? i’ve seen another video on tiktok a few weeks ago on the victoria line with this happening
Driver forgot to turn on the lights 💀
Kind of a a H&S issue, laws on how many lights have to be on for a train to be allowed in service. Kind of cool tho
If the driver was caught he would probably be fired. Health and Safety is very strict on the railways.
That must be rare to find a train without the passenger lighting running
Not rare on the Central line.
I have been travelling on the underground since I was born, and this is the first time this has happened for me.
@@benolifts I work on the tube, over 2 years on the Central and seen it quite frequently.
@@NoddyMaccy I go on the central line like every weekend and there is lights on
@@TDCBOI I travel on the line anywhere between 5 to 7 days a week and on some occasions some lights, if not all in some cars haven’t been working. I also worked on the line for 2 and a half years before moving to the Met.
YES! Another London Underground video! I’m a big fan of the London Underground
Who forgot to pay the engergy bills for these trains? lol
The ultimate haunted underground experience!
Great video. ☺️
xd, you are very surprised of that but in Paris it happen always, light cut out for many time or the luminosity is ultra low, but in France we have brain so we put light into tunnels
Very nice video with Dark train
COOL!!! Imma go find one and board one soon
You would have to be very lucky to find one with the lights out. This is the first time I have found this and I am on the underground all the time.
Imagine if TFL ran a halloween service with the lights off! And then you had to escape the train
Casual thing on an MTA train, especially an older train such as R62s, although I haven’t ridden the subway in a while.
This makes it easy for dangerous stuff to happen, better be careful (seriously)
But whoa, that is so rare. Kinda fire ngl
"Take your finger out of my ear."
"That's not my finger."
"AAAAAAAAA!"
This happened at times with the modern trains in Stockholm, but was more common in the older trains, but only one or two wagons out of 8 would have light out, possibly due to a blown fuse or something.
Wow!!!!
Very spooky without the lights on makes it feel like your on a ghost train
a lot
He'll does it is!... Oh, jeez!! 😓
The noise is spooky as well. You could hear the same noise on the Victoria line trains back in the 90s.
This also once happend on my commute on the central line
I’ve only experienced when lights are off on Bart trains because the engine needs to be restarted
No, is traindriver forgot to put the light on... He wasn't wake up to it properly!
@@SAMIEWALLFORD756 Ik you don’t get what I’m talking about
@@VOLTRONDEFENDER4440 Well, what kind is no idea why this train without in the sight it is, hm?!!... 😓
@@SAMIEWALLFORD756 well I never experienced being on a train where the train operator forgets to turn on the lights, only when the engine needs to be restarted
@@VOLTRONDEFENDER4440 Ok. :)
I like the dark
Is the Victoria line but someone painted in the tunnel
The tube would be so comfy if this was a regular occurrence.
I wonder why are the lights out.
The driver might of just forgot to turn them on
Driver is dead on the train... Might get that train cause curse on Victoria line in horror it is! 😦😨
In germany we say: Kein licht kein Strom wir kommen schon. :D
Great video. Was you on your way to look at the wierd lifts in TL London City?
Darkness 2009 stock tube of London Underground !
Where is the service quality?
No idea, why this!! 😱
In the curse of Victoria line goes dark the horror on the train. No reason why is done it wrong! 😰
Lmao the passengers aren't even bothered
I once rode a Piccadilly line train with no saloon lights on at all
I used to be a funny little idiot with a key for the electrical compartment in many trains in Austria. Before tunnels I often turned off the lights via the Circuit Breaker... the people inside the train always found it awesome. I fully admit it is stupid.
My grandson was on that train but in the first coach
That looks terrifying but I'd love to go on one
What the heck that?!!... Why did you call the driver put the light on? Pretty scary this train!!! ^O^
Cool epic catch!!
How come the Victoria line got no lights maybe the driver forgot to turn it on some how or it could it be a faulty lights maybe IDK
This happened to me once on a 1996 stock.
Yo lol that’s cool
damn looks like in a horror movie, atleast their motor sound still fire
Absolutely true!!! What expect of hell this train run up the service! 😦😓
Why did the driver not turn the lights
The metro systems in Moscow and other former Soviet Union cities have cars with no lighting due to electrical problems.
Russia has a lot of problems.
Not Russia, is this London in the UK, mate.
LOL 🤣
Its all fun and games until the train suddenly stops in the middle of the tunnel
Wow I can't believe this
It looks like the central line now
Back in the days of old Underground trains malfunctioning lighting wasn't uncommon, I know that it used to happen on the R Stock trains that were introduced from 1950, it would have happened with previous batches of trains before the R Stock; however the R Stock also had two emergency lights in each car.
Whoa?!!... What the hell this train going to be scared of it. Why so dark this? Should tell the driver something wrong with this train? Shouldn't be fix-it the light on properly... I no wonder why is hell this evil on the Victoria Line train it is... Oh my god!! 😰😦
Thief’s dream
Hunter curse on the Victoria line, how could be scared of this train without light, huh?!! 😰😨
how did it end up like this
Driver forgot to switch the lights on
Might get off the train while wait for the next train or take a bus trip way up to. I cannot expect of this train running without light is so dark! Pretty like a nightmare curse of the Victoria line! How evil with that train, hm?!!... 😰
@@SAMIEWALLFORD756 veri evil 😈 😈
Was the driver aware? Were they switched off or was it a fuse or something
@Jake Wynn Chances are there was probably a fault with the lighting and electrical system. As he did point out, this train is from 2009 and chances are has received many years of wear and tear.
@@baelevatorsmore728 1 train with faulty lights doesnt really warrant a comment like "they just don’t make things like they used to". One fault !! Everything goes wrong sometimes, even new stuff. I bet it was fixed very quickly.
@Mike Woods I agree on that point. I’m just saying the newer and more advanced something is, the more things are likely to go wrong. I’m not saying all modern trains are an issue. Rather the modern trains or modern vehicles in general, tend to have more issues.
Driver is needed to wake up, get your fix-it the light on up with it. What expect of this train gone off the way so dark. How come to this people could be scared of without light, huh?!! 😦
@@baelevatorsmore728 the 2009 stock is still VERY new compared to other trains. The 1936 stock is STILL in operation somewhere so that ain't an excuse
how do you get the rare stuff :(

the metro to hell
I'd love travelling on that.
looks like great fun too.
Same, same, same!!!! It’s one of the best tube lines on the Underground.
Use the Central line more, happens frequently with the ‘92’s
"So scary"
You could tell the driver about this
Oh my god. No lights on the Victoria Line 2009 Stock. How did that happen. When did that happen?
Likely a fault with the train.
@@NoddyMaccy Ah right. Maybe that’s why the lights weren’t working.
Most likely the driver forgot to turn on the lights. They wouldn't be allowed to run the train with a fault.
@@benolifts Not true. Drivers aren’t always aware of faults on the train. The Aux could have tripped and the driver may not have been aware as nobody had said anything.
I wonder why the lights weren’t working whilst the train was still moving. But it does look scary and fun and the same time.
I think they need to make improvements……
Frightening ride
What year where you born

In the vid I saw graffiti in the tunnel whoever went in there inside is dangerous because there bats and rats in the tunnel and you can get hit😊
