- today i take you to Greenscape Boutique located in Boise Idaho. I wasnt sure the route this shop would take, but after seeing their CRAZY selection today, I can happily say this is Boise's (and probably Idaho's) first ACTUAL rare plant shop and i am sooooo excited that we have this here!! They also lowerd a tonnn of their prices since I was here last which is good, as everything was preeeeety unrealistically expensive before.
Also they had florida (greens which are common plants) listed as florida beauties and selling for 96$. Upon informing the owner that they were not beauties and they were not worth 96, she actually changed the name on the labels and lowered the price which is so cool. I love people who dont get offended, and I didnt even ask her to do that.

Whoa, variagated string of hearts is no longer an expensive plant in the Netherlands. I bought a 7cm (3 inch) pot a while ago for 6 euros (6,40 American dollars). Hopefully they get more accessible in the USA too!

They are pretty accessible in the US. The last time I took a trip to plant nurseries in Colorado (which was a year ago and prices have come down since then), I came across the exact same size and similar size pots (2-3inches) of variegated SOH for 5-7$. 33 dollars is ridiculous for something that tiny.

Hi Ashley, hey from South Africa 🇿🇦 ( where string of pearls are native) and they like bright indirect light and it's basically a succulent, so I let it dry out COMPLETELY between waterings. The temperature ranges are 65°f -75°f ( but they can handle a bit colder). Make sure to put in a very well draining/succulent mix. 💚
Also bottom watering is the way to go

So it was such a beautiful shop! But as stated the prices were super high, maybe that area is still behind but gorgeous place.
A lot of those plant prices are absolutely mad! Y’all are literally being robbed at this point, bc their prices are absolutely ridiculous. I can’t believe ppl actually get away with charging insane prices for plants that aren’t even worth that much lol.
Prices depend on where you live- i know for a fact that the plants sue buys are expensive and she only marks them up enought to make an ROI. Sorry u dont like the prices but plants are worth what ppl are willing to pay for them, and sooo many of these are cheaper than they have been in years

@@PlantingAshley $34 for a small variegated string of hearts is wild & even for a highly variegated ring of fire at that size would be maybe $50.. I’ve never seen such expensive prices on not very rare plants. Her prices are insane and 2-3 times the cost anywhere online sells or other local stores

Today is my birthday and I got two large 6in plants last week. A Hoya pub.(idk how to spell it and I can't move because I'm feeding my baby) Splash for $20 and Hoya krimson princess that is partially reverted for free!
I know you said don’t get scared off by the price but…I’m a little scared off my the price. These are 2-3 times more than what the price is in my area.

I have heard of the difference between monstera borsigiana and deliciosa before, but I did not know it's the same as the large and small form! That's so interesting. I have learnt before that the deliciosa has this wiggly part at the place where the petiole attatches to the leaf. So, just to check if I understand correctly, monstera borsigiana is not acknowledged as a different botanical species then deliciosa? And deliciosa is the same plant as the large form monstera, borsigiana is the small form? Or the other way around?
String of pearls I had some but mealie bugs love them and right when you think you got rid of them they come back 😅😢

I had a Hoya Matilde splash that put out one of those double leaf mutations, but it’s never put another leaf like it out. I’m still hoping it will though.

Are you sure that epipremnum is Jessenia and not Carnival?
Came here to talk about this 😅 it’s for sure not a Jessenia, which comes from & would look more like a Marble Queen. I thought it looked like a really nice Emerald (or some variation from it) cause it doesn’t quite look like a Carnival. Ashley we need you to go back and see what the shop owner says plsss 🙏🏻💚

I work at an Ohio based plant store, THE FERNS IN THOSE WOODEN BASKETS NEED TO DIE. Those wooden baskets make me hate ferns. The ferns hate the baskets too. Notice how dark the bottom of one of the ferns was? Becuase it has to be watered EVERYDAY. I water the ones at the store every other day. They're awful. Petition to ban ferns from being sold in wooden hanging baskets, leave a like on this comment 👍🏻 😂 I hope other people hate them as much as I do. Love ferns. I bought 5 this week, but those baskets are the devil
