A brief History of Machil Valley and it's villages

Nestled in a captivating hilly terrain near the Line of Control, Machil Sector, a mere 150 kilometers from Srinagar, strives for development despite the neglect by the administration. With 16,000 residents, primarily Pashtuns, nine villages in the sector lack basic necessities like electricity, roads, and education. The Indian Army plays a pivotal role in their lives, offering support and education. Academic opportunities are scarce, as digital access remains a distant dream. The future appears bleak for the youth, with limited career prospects. Despite the region's natural beauty, proximity to the LOC has posed risks and challenges. The ceasefire since February 2021 has brought a sense of security, but development remains a pressing concern. The nation's future relies on empowering these border communities with education and resources.

Yes it is safe. You need a pass from local police station of kupwara/kalaroos
