Dungeons & Dragons Drinks: czcams.com/video/uu-vM8CLJrI/video.html
I made REAL drinks from Critical Role: czcams.com/video/Yr1Bz1p8Od0/video.html
I had the worst drinks of my life thanks to Critical Role: czcams.com/video/AH4yyDk6lkQ/video.html
First! Kidding, I think the concept of D&D drinks is pretty cool :)
Im totally cribbing this for my table btw. Health potions making you progressively drunk is an awesome nerf !!!!
so like could we get that table for use in our dnd campaigns? 😅I have a player always trying to make new drinks with his character and that table would work wonders
Greg do a video making drinks named after d and d epic villains and also can you do a drink based off the quacken meme?
Video idea : make tiny portion cocktails that a DM can give his players as portions for an in person game.
The bishops enlightenment should be called "healing word" as a play on both the spell and the drink "last word"
"New Religion" might work too
Celestial Blood
Bishop's passion?
I might have to remake that drink but without the unnecessary ingredients and add it to my home menu
When he said enlightened bishop, it brought to mind smoking bishop.
The degrees of separation between Greg and the CR crew are growing fewer, which means we might still get that Sandkeg's Hide tasting session 😂
I believe the degree of separation is 1 since Brennan Lee Mulligan dm'd calamity
If he is one of the people the second side of the split party winds up with, I'll be so pleased.
@@AllHailSp00nRiver TRUEEE
@AllHailSp00nRiver Oh my god that would be amazing
@@AllHailSp00nRiver I would love that!
This is the most ambitious crossover in the history of media
its dangerous. I think Matt is calling in because the universe would implode if they were in the same room
This is the greatest thing I've seen all month
I don't know. Mercer DMing Dimension 20 is pretty wild.
@@tomharris5649 Likewise, Brennan on Critical Role was epic.
I love both of these men
I love the idea of rolling dice to see what drinks are made, a d4 for type of bitters, d6 for base of the drink (rum, vodka, etc.), d8 for citrus/herbs, all the way up to d20 for anything random you have stocked. Make it happen Greg!
i think it's a terrible idea. i enjoy this channel because i learn how to make a wide variety of classic and new cocktails. drinks that are artfully crafted and well thought out. rolling dice for ingredients is just pure randomness and adds nothing to this channel. we learn nothing about drinks. we learn nothing about how to mix quality ingredients.
my old regular Pub had the "Don't care" on the menu, if you ordered it, they handed you 3 D20
@@zarbonthedestroyer7232 A large part of making those drinks and understanding them, is trial and error. The randomly generated format adds 2 things seeing how ingredients you might not have thought of using together do or don’t work together, and using ratios to your benefit. Once you learn enough recipes those are the sort of skills that allow you to adjust to your own liking and to make your own creations.
@@zarbonthedestroyer7232 each to their own.
@@Vikingbilly but were not learning anything. that style of video is only popular cause the wow factor. there no lore, no history, no learning. just random drinks that 9 times out of 10 are going to be gross.
Greg's willingness to torture his face hole with kaoling wine and malort is the mark of a selfless hero
It's like mixing gasoline and earwax...
🤮
Or a masochist
@@borisbutterscotch9482 he just wants to test the limits of what he can handle...
Like Markiplier
He mentioned Malort and I had a visceral reaction gag.... oh malort! Never again!
Lawful Good sometimes IS Lawful Stupid...
First Brennan Lee Mulligan and now Matt Colville? I can't wait for the Matthew Mercer episode!
y'know, the idea of expanding potion crafting is great to begin with... but making potions borderline toxic alcohol concoctions with side effects to balance out their bonuses? That should definitely be a thing :D
I agree. I did it in a chapter last year. I might have to bring it back.
Sounds like Witcher Potions and Decoctions
witcher potions then. they are basically dangerously high proff cocktails infused with herbs poisonous to normal people
I mean, alcohol is a big ingredient in olde time witch recipes
@@Cheatera1alcohol is used to draw out the active parts of the ingredients much more efficiently than just water.
So yes, quite important part.
The most relatable DM moment for me in this episode is Greg trying to remember/interpret what his notes on the spreadsheet meant.
Good god I've left myself some headscratchers in my session notes.
I love how greg tries to torture himself but his knowledge of cocktails refuses to let him until he does it on purpose
Love MCDM. Between being friends with Brennan and having Matt on the show, you're really becoming a YT D&D macher.
Was literally just watching his latest video. And then you upload this. First Brennan Lee Mulligan, now Matt Colville. Next Mercer?
Agreed, Matt Mercer needs to be on here
The trinity
@How To Drink Arguably the quartet if you also brought in Aabria!
Just get every well known DM in a room together, pour some drinks and you've arguably created an irl party in a tavern. Like every campaign ever.
Ooooo, Anthony Burch
A fun twist would be to roll on the old "Potion miscibility" table between drinks. In older editions if you drank two potions in rapid succession, the magic could have unexpected interactions, and anything could happen from one of the potion effects becoming permanent, to straight up exploding.
That’s actually still an optional rule in 5e! Made for a fun end to a boss fight when a hill giant tried to chug a Potion of Fire Breath and a Potion of Healing at the same time and exploded 😂
Isn't that basically how pathfinder Alchemists lead their entire lives? One bad mutagenic decision to the next
The Hackmaster mention got me. I remember laughing so hard I gave myself a headache because one of my friends took as many flaws as possible and spent 30 min rolling on the flaw tables only to end up with a blind, deaf/mute who had to be wheeled around in a wagon and wore an executioner's cloak because his visage was too disturbing to let people just encounter on the street.
Absolutely love Hackmaster.
but what did his perks do?
The collaboration I didn't know we needed
I'm gonna make up names for these based on what you described.
Drink 1: Sea Treasure
Drink 2: Morning Prayer
Drink 3: Mimic's Blood
Drink 4: Burning Blight
The next episode of this needs to be in person, bringing a guest for a thematic cocktail episode once in a while is for sure a winner!
This would have been much more interesting.
Matt Colville is actually how I started watching this channel, in a roundabout way. I was a big fan of the game Evolve, made by Turtlerock Studios, and written by Matt. I started watching his videos, and in one of them he discussed Critical Role. Cue me becoming a giant fan of that, then cue me finding your Critical Role cocktails videos!
Great measure of someone's personality is how invested they get in something just because someone else is passionate about it. Matt is completely present in Greg's explanations of drink nerdery and its delightful to see. (Also, spreadsheet tips!)
Matt fing Colville in HTD. The crossover I NEVER knew I needed but now I know I couldn’t have wanted it more!
The daisy chain of H2D hosting Matt Colville who references Melon from the Needle Drop who has had James Acaster cameo on his channel is the kind of hobby blending delight that gets me up in the morning. So many of my favorites all woven into a web I would never have imagined could exist ❤
The video I didn't know I needed until it was here. I love this team up. Matt was the best teacher I could ask for when I started being a DM. And Greg was the best teacher I've had to learn and improve the drinks I make for myself and friends.
Thank you for covering the OGL debacle! This is an awesome collaboration, hope to see more D&D content in the future!
Feeling like a potion master is what I like most about mixing, and I would love to see more potion related episodes! (and DND bc I'm a nerd)
Rolling up drinks is so chaotic and nerdy and yet perfect for a D&D drink! I would LOVE to see a sequel to this video with rolling more "potions" then getting Matt to write up an actual potion item stat and description based on the concocted drink!
The last drink is the Lich's Regret. The potion the creature must drink to complete the ritual to become a lich. It is also the thing the lich tastes and smells for all eternity. Main reason they are so bitter. And yes they are dead and it makes no sense but somehow they do.
First Brennan now Matt, these D&D crossovers are getting wicked!
Next video with the dungeons and daddies crew?!
Matt is just sitting... waiting.... (Sam, meanwhile, has been banned indefinitely from H2D for Eldermancy)
I believe Greg is a Daddies fan as well
Okay, first of all, Sweetness of the Grave is a *fantastic* name for a potion (or anything really). Second, I love that the most beautiful looking drink (to me) was the foulest tasting one. That's just perfect. 😅
Last but not least, I am now in desperate need of an in-person episode with Brennan and whoever else (MC would be epic, of course) D&D related to have a roll-off for potions they have to try, with ingredients & effects revealed *after* they drink. I know it would be an extra layer of challenge to come up with No ABV potions for Brennan, but I also don't drink & would love to play along. Maybe zero ABV potions could be Part 2 of this series? Either way, great video, I'd love to see more!
Love this incredible crossover! Nerds rejoice!
If you're still stuck for ideas Greg, I was rewatching old episodes recently and noted from your Spanish Flu epidemic episode you were thinking of doing a Grasshopper-specific episode. As the idea of trying to make variations of it is interesting (and the Grasshopper is personally one of my favourite cocktails) maybe might be worth visiting? Love love love the work and thank you for making our lives better for doing it. All the best.
This was excellent! Would love to see more unexpected collaborations between "subject matter experts" in different fields for mixology!
Greg casually making the most complex tasting beautiful sounding drinks
The deadpan delivery of Matt Colville is second to none.
Absolutely LOVE Matt Colville! Epic level mashup!
I absolutely love this episode. I never thought I'd see Matt Colville on this channel and he was an excellent guest. Keep up the good work Greg. You've leveled up.
Islay and port is such a good combo, I’m really glad that one turned out well
Woah never saw this coming! I love both channels and this is such a pleasant surprise!
This might be one of my new favorite things. We need more of these!
I like having a drink, and I'm currently designing my own D&D setting, so this is the perfect crossover.
Idea: Make the best bartenders, vintners, and brewers also be alchemists/potion crafters. PCs can train with one (for the right price) to gain proficiency with alchemist's tools, a cocktail recipe, and a unique potion recipe.
Maybe even have glassware that are common magic items that do various things, like cool/heat drinks, automix its contents, glow while in contact with (non-alcohol) poison, or act as the silent version of the Alarm spell (to warn the bartender) when the holder is about to start a fight.
A group of bartenders doing a dnd campaign sounds like it’d be a lot of fun. Like having your characters each being former bartender/tavern keepers as well. They’re usually the ones taking the adventures in but now they’re going on their own adventure and each episode you could roll drinks that effect your stats for the day.
What an awesome show and crossover. This need to be done again.
This was such a fun episode and I know it couldn't happen all the time but if this came back as a special treat and another way to get guests I'd love it. I loved the drinks, the concept, the effects, everything like this was so much fun to watch and I'm really hoping there's an afterparty for this because this was again fun.!
I needed this on my life, thanks y'all for this wonderful collaboration, but now I demand to see Greg in a one shot with Matt!
Thats the crossover I've been waiting for! You both and your interactions on twitter are about the only thing on that hellsite I still enjoy!
Matt Colville is so great. He can't make bad tasting potions. Even the bad one at the end had Greg going back for multiple sips.
the crossover we didn't know we need
My 2 favorite CZcamsrs. Incredible.
This was fun to watch. Potion drinks for Dungeons and Dragons is genius! I love your game themed drinks!
I love that Matt is clearly talking for a long time and they're cutting a lot for time
Actually rolled up some decent drinks, the dynamic between the host and guest is fire, AND malort makes a cameo at the end! 11/10 video!
Funnily enough I found "How To Drink" through a mention made by a player on MCDM's "The Chain", the Actual Play DMed by Matt Colville! So happy to see you guys on screen together.
Thanks for the great video!
There was an episode of "Drinking Made Easy" in San Francisco (I think) where Zane Lamprey went to an old smuggling speakeasy and ordered a "Shanghai Surprise". Authentic bartender explained, the patron would throw 3 coasters behind the bar and whatever those coasters hit,the bartender would have to create a cocktail out of it.
Really clever idea with a great guest. XP gained!
Gonna make Greg a potion seller in my future campaign! Also cool to see Matt!
I hope you guys are able to meet up again. Do this again, in the MCDM Studio. Maybe with an expanded random table, or a new table. This was good fun to watch
This is amazing. I got into D&D at the end of 2019 because Greg did a live play, and I was like "Holy s***, I can play online with friends and family". In the pursuit of learning D&D, I found Matt Colville. You two really helped my family, friends, and me during the lockdown. Thank you both.
This has been probably one of the most enjoyable videos I have seen from you! You were so creative with the ingredients and what they did for a D&D game and it as really impressive.
I didn't know I needed this but it is amazing, this was fun 🙌 Top tier ep and I'd love to see you and Matt again.
You two together is a drinking nerds dream sir. Love this video
So first brennan Lee mulligan, now matt Colville....think we know who's next to complete the trilogy
You are looking so great, Greg! I have been watching older episodes that popped up on my YT feed, and just came to your most recent and I noticed you are looking really fit. Whatever you are doing is working, keep it up brother!
Something very similar to Jeppson's Malört is semi-popular in Sweden. ”Bäska droppar” is basically the same thing. In fact! ”Malört” is the Swedish word for wormwood!
This is the best video you have made yet! Coming from a D&D player. I shared this to all of my D&D friends! Thank you for this!
One of my favorite episodes so far! I would love a full series on D&D drinks!
Loved it, thanks Greg and Matt!!
I waited longer than usual to watch this for some reason, but I'm sorry I did cause I absolutely love this format. Collaboration is always a treat.
This is one of the most exciting collaboration videos I've seen in a hot minute! I'd be down for another!
Never even played D&D but thoroughly enjoyed this episode!
This is awesome! Love the idea and love Matt as a guest!!
Love this! Thank you Greg and Matt!!!!
Awesome collaboration! Two of my favorite creators!
I'm sad I missed the notification for this because it was DELIGHTFUL. A fun ride. It's nice watching two people who love what they do interacting.
This was a lot of fun! Thanks to both of you for the content!
Great video, always love the D&D themed stuff!
Man, Matt is BALLIN with those HD 800s. I respect a man who needs crystal clear audio.
Ever since I saw you guys goin back and forth on twitter I've been waiting for this to happen. This is awesome.
One of your best shows. Really cool!!
This only re-confirmed a 1000% that any cast member from Critical Role would absolutely kill it on here.
This is the collaboration that I always knew that I wanted and I'm so happy that it's here. Cheers to round 1. Please do this again!
this was awesome, loved to see matt as a guest
One the best video ideas in awhile. Great one
I am ALLLLLLLL for seeing another collab with you two, having been subscribed to both Matt and Greg for quite a while each.
I love all these collabs Greg!
i keep coming back to this one, it's a blast! I'd love to see a follow-up to this episode where Matt talks about some of the stranger potions he's given to players, maybe with some ingredients and effects, and you try to design a cocktail to mimic it.
FANTASTIC episode. I am a huge fan of Matt, and his dry wit is a great pairing with Greg.
That was fantastic. Love the content. Keep up the good work Greg
That was great! We need a round two episode.
I love this format of video!!
God I was so close to first! This is a dream, Matt and Greg, so cheers!
"so the idea is that the potion has a spell inside it?"
"isn't that how they work?"
"i don't know"
-basically every dnd session i've ever been in.
Yep, the roll a dice build-a-drink concept needs to be a series. This was super entertaining.
Don't have time to watch right now, but I'm so excited to see two of my favorite twitter/youtube people interacting! Can't wait to enjoy!
This was super fun! I love when you mix things you like with drink making and this was awesome!
It was a surprise to see a collab with Matt, but a very welcome one. I hope you two make more content together some time soon
Love you both!
Your face drinking that last concoction was priceless! Way to hang in there! Bravo!
This was an awesome concept! I would really like to see more.
whoa. that is not a collab i expected... cool!
this was a super fun concept id love to see it turned into a series
first video ive ever seen of yours. absolutely loved this!! haha the potion of redness actually looked really good and sounds good! :) great vid!
haven't even started watching the episode just saw that you have Matt on- this is awesome already!! watched a ton of his stuff in prep for being a DM
That was a really fun episode! I liked the randomness of it. So cool!
