  • In this short video I show you a shortened version of the start up procedure. Although it doesn't follow the official check lists this procedure will get you up and into the air in no time!

Can you just explain what you were doing with the rudder/brakes there please? Are they connected in some way?

Thanks for your question! The rudder and brakes are linked. If you are travelling in a straight line and want the aircraft to stop you would just hit the brakes as normal. For turning the aircraft while taxiing you need to hit the brakes and press the rudder. So, if you wanted to turn left you would apply the brake AND push your left foot forwards. The more rudder you apply the harder the brakes will squeeze and the tighter the turn. The aircraft is quite ‘light’ on the ground so you may see in the video that I am constantly tapping the brakes and applying a little rudder to keep the aircraft under control - if you leave the aircraft turning too long it can be hard to get it back in track without spinning out. Hope that helps explain it a bit better.

@@Wolfhound223 well done on passing your driving test! I hope you love the mossie - it’s great fun to fly and the Normandy map looks amazing as you zip over it at 20ft :)
