The cake came out so nice. I cannot believe you were able to save it. I totally feel your pain about being over stimulated with a baby. Caring for a baby, working and keeping up with home chores is almost impossible. But give yourself grace, just focus on the things you are able to get done even if itâs just doing a small load of laundry. Caring for a baby is equivalent to having 3 F/t jobs. This season will fly by so try to enjoy it and be nice to yourself.

Okay so I got to the cake part. I actually decorate cakes as a hobby and have taken classes, etc. one thing Iâd recommend is making the frosting more soft by adding more of whatever liquid is in your recipe. And then you started off good with doing a âcrumb coatâ and if the frosting wasnât so thick and sticky it would have been fine to smooth over the cakes without ruining them. I also have 4 inch high cake pans so youâd really only need like 2 of those stacked to make a tall cake vs. 4 two inch ones. Using fewer layers helps with it falling apart too. Also, try to do a pound cake recipe thatâs on the box so itâs heavier. I believe itâs just more eggs?? Then once the crumb coat is on and if youâd like to refrigerate a bit to seal it, thatâs fine. Then go in with the main frosting. But again, the frosting should be pretty creamy so it doesnât stick to the cake. Your final cake ended up being awesome though! I totally felt the pressure with you during that part of the video as Iâve definitely cried over my cakes before!
Omg thank you for all these tips!! I will definitely incorporate these next time. I agree - definitely needed smaller but taller cakes. Less layers and it would be taller more like the inspiration photo. Also I didn't even know it made a pound cake type recipe on the box. I'll have to take a closer look next time that's a great tip!

Haha I miss them too already! Although I am enjoying his cute two little front teeth. I am presuming those top ones are just around the corner though. Haha it sure is a journey đŠ thankful to have a break from it for a bit. I can't imagine those little ones who get them back to back to back

The dance studio pants are cute. If you freeze the layers, you can ice them frozen. Itâs much easier and the cake will be super moist.
Thank you! Yes I thought refrigerating the cake layers would be enough but sadly it just made it too moist. I think I'll try freezing next time and probably taller cakes with less layers might help too
Lulu vibes have been low for me mainly because of the lack of size inclusivity. Stores rarely carry my size anymore and even getting sizes on the website can be hit or miss. I have a $200 gift card I got for Christmas that I havenât used⌠I literally canât find anything that interests me enough.
Omg I totally hear you. I don't know what's going on and why they've pulled most of their extended sizing especially online. When I worked there I did find our store had a surplus of markdowns in sizes 14+ that barely got shopped so they did stop sending us the fun colors and seasonal stuff and just stuck to the core items and colors but now they've taken it all out of stores I've noticed. I feel like it is a step backwards though

I just got the Vitapink one and I sized up to make it more like a loose âjacketâ and I love it sooo much! Itâs Nulu fabric and super soft. Iâm guessing youâve tried them though. I got my true to size in that one but it is the older version that had a mesh vent in the back. I wish they didn't take that out of the new ones. I really liked that feature. Would you ever consider comparing lulu to other brands like fabletics or gymshark etc?
I've done an old navy comparison before! Gym shark is so hard to get ahold of here in Canada. I have also considered trying alo for a comparison but I honestly hate shopping in that store 𫣠never tried fabletics though!
