You did not mention that you have to put a hyphen before cr, so I was not able to solve the problem until I saw another person made a video with the hyphen before cr, and that is how I got my program to work, but thanks anyway.
I don't use Mac M1 so I don't have it presently but I can help you with how to get it if you want. I will do the video and post it here. I hope you will see it when am done 🙂

It'd memory is 8GB 1600 MHz-Core Intel Core i5, and it's graphics are Intel HD Graphics 6000 1536 MB. The professor is 1.8 GHz Duel-Core Intel Core i5. Is it a possibility that the update may have messed it up?
What is your system specification, your Operation System and where exactly did it went wrong. And did you copy all the installation files to you desktop?

Hello Egbon it didn't work for me, I use a MacBook Pro 13, with a macOS High Sierra 10.13. I tried both ways you explained and none worked.

@@Sirri_Wolf reboot your mac, ensure no other app is running then try it again as shown. It should work sir.
Well it worked but the software keep crashing immediately after launching
