Sorry, but the dating given for the writing down of pali canon is absolutely wrong. The Vinaya pitika and Sutta pitika were not written in the first council. The initial method of preservation was oral. It was oral transmission of baskets with the help of disciples like Ananda, Upali and others. It was only during the reign of Emperor Ashoka that written process began in the 3rd century. He sent a delegation headed by his son Mahinda in Sri Lanka in 3rd Century. There also in Ceylon, first the texts were preserved orally. then under the reign of King Vattagamani it was commissioned to be wriiten down 26-17CE. The Abhidhama doctrines started to formulate from 1st CE onwards and were then completed by 5th CE (through the translation of sinhalese commentaries by Buddhaghosa. please check the facts in detail before publishing a lecture.
Yes and no. The Buddha is defacto supreme, understood to be devatideva. But a Buddha is different from the notion of "God" in our popular understanding. It is not wrong to worship Buddhas as such, but it remains a limited notion.
