Thanks
Light saver... I see what you did there.
😂👍
Same thing m8
DON DAMARCO DAMARCO
That is very brave to sand with 60 grit, but the result is just amazing!! well done.
Thank you, the method you showed is exactly what I was searching for, you taught me how to clear the cracks on my headlights. Excellent work. 👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👌👌👌👌👌👌👌👌👌👌👌👌👌👌👌👌👌👌👌👌👌👌👌👌👌👌👌👌💯💯💯💯💯💯💯💯💯💯💯💯💯💯💯💯💯💯💯💯💯💯💯💯💯💯💯💯
Awsome, finally found someone fixing a headlight that was as bad as mine. Thanks a lot! 👍
That did a good job, excellent results, this is one of the best restoration I've seen.
Have just followed your video and headlights have come up great. Took headlights out to carry out the process. Thank you keep up the great work
Awesome job!! Finally a video I can follow and see every step.
That's one hell of a restoration on your headlights... great job sir! 👍🏼
Thanks
Wow man. Hats off to you. What an amazing transformation.
Keep up the good work. Drive safe
Thanks
Great job. Now the Holy Grail of detailing and polish scratches out of windscreen.
I have never known that you can save this bad headlights. Well done. But I think that if you have this much sanding to do, you should definitely remove the headlights from the car. That way you don't end up damaging the paint and you can sand all the way to the edges.
Wow I got the same issue.. thanks now I know how to fix it.. awesome
great Job you have given me hope !
Wow! nicely done!
Great job looks like new..a lot of work though....Thanks...
I NOW KNOW WHAT I CAN DO WITH MIND .THANKS FOR SHAREING 👍👍👍
Very good job, thanks for sharing
Thank you for video. Very helpful 👍
Thank you for this, it will take a long time, but I will be working on a Renault with about the same amount of damage.
WOW! A great job.
This is awesome!
AMAZING! Mine is not nearly that bad so I have hope again to fix mine 😆😁😃
Damn! Awesome work
bro.. you gave me some faith in doing this.. im gonna give it a shot tonight.
How did it go?
Hi Morio, what a great , informative video. Your explanation, detail and photography made me understand fully what is needed to be done. Excellent, thank you. I have this problem with my headlight, relatively new car, but got the spider cracks. I don't know if I am game enough to try though? Can you tell me how long did it take you to go through the process of 60 grit sandpaper to 2000 grit sandpaper? I am just trying to work out my capabilities. Please let me know. Thanks.
great video.
Very impressive
Man I'm glad I found you that the way mind is
Thanks, if you have any questions, I am here 😀
I was looking for cracky headlights restoration , thanks
Awesome video man :) love your content
Thanks
Thanks for sharing man
Very well done!!
Thanks
Fantastic
Wow great job... 🤗🤗🤗
Thanks
The glass head lights never had that problem until they switched it to crappy plastic.🚘
I 👍
I don’t think its very easy to make glass covers in modern shapes and designs …
@@drsus0 modern technology allows to do everything, pedestrian safety regulations is why glass headlight lenses are not allowed
@@skinheads there modern technology and then there’s material limitations. But for sure a plastic headlight is much safer (and cheaper) siding an accident … if you can avoid being hit by the rest of the car of course
Plastic is lighter and cost effective in auto industry... Thats why glass extinct... 😑😑
Great Video! Shows you what a little sweet and elbow grease can do for a talented, whiling person. Well Done!
Thank you very much!
Very good job
Nice results
Dope dope dope!
Great job👌🏻
Thanks
Hey there thank you for the video the headlights look awesome, so I have a 2022 BMW with small pitting. I want to get them looking beautiful and clear prior to putting PPF film on it, I have buffed and sanded headlights before, but I am hesitant to do it with wet sanding on a brand new car what do you think?
Unbelievable.awesome
Thanks
You did a great job there my friend
I did everything. But the polish didn’t do anything to restore the headlights. Did I miss anything? Which kind of polish you used? Thanks
Great video. I was scared in the beginning when you applied the 60 paper! lol
Thanks, me too, I didn't know what will happen, but end of the day is perfect 👌.
Fantastic sir
Thanks
WOW!
Thanks for sharing
Thank much.👍👍👍👍👍👍
After a long time 😍
Yes, finally
You gave me hope.
Thanks
Great great job
Thanks
Thank you soooooo much
I recently did mine except i used the dry sand method with power drill attachment until i got to the 1500 grit sandpaper then i wet sanded by hand.Took about 30 mins per light using this method
Do you also need to spray 2k clear coat on the headlights?
🔥🔥
i have this rash effect but not as bad as this, do you think t-cut would be able to get it out?
Watching other videos a new layer of clear coat is applied, I guess to protect the new surface made from sanding. Is this something you missed on purpose or just need think was mecessary? Thanks
Those cracks are not actually cracks it’s factory clear coat cracked due to heat . Best and easy way to make job easy is to use a paint stripper on the light to remove that in under 5 minutes it will be clean , then start with 1000 grid and go up to 3000 and then polish. Pretty much same results in 1/4th of a time . Excellent results 👌🏼👍
No, is not cracks on clear coat, is cracks on plastic. If you look video till the end, you will see some spots is still cracks bcz is too deep on plastic (13:50min) and I didn't sanding with hard sandpaper long enough. Headlights with damage like that, you cannot start with 1000 sandpaper. If you want I will make video with clear coat damage.
Soon I will post video with very hard and deep scratches on headlight. Everybody told me go and buy new, is not possible to fix.
Thanks for your comment and see you on next video.
Interesting. Obviously the headlight would have to be removed from the car in order to use paint stripper but I've always wondered if it was chemically possible to remove failed and degraded clear coat without damaging the plastic underneath. You've done this?
Paint stripper on a car headlights?? That's a definite No No!!!
Yes! You've concluded my thoughts! Thanks alot mate 👊
very nice
Thanks
I dont have to much cracks. Wich steps should i follow and what type of abrasive papers should i get?
Doing a similar repair to headlights on a 2009 Mustang. Wet sanded 1000 gr and finally 2000 gr but used a sponge with sandpaper attached. And went with clear gloss paint for plastic.
nice
so satisfying, don't forget to spray some UV protective clear coat on them to prevent it from happening again
Nothing is permanent!!!
So you just sanded and polished the headlight, but how did you protected from the UV sun light? Probably in a year or two your headlights gonna be yellow again if not earlier.
Hi Is possible ask a question? I have this problem for headlight for Seat Leon. Is possible write in private for resolve?
How long did it take you to complete?
Good work man....
I just want to be sure, if the cracks is at outer side only or it also may at the inner side of the glass....?
Thanks...
I try only from outside, but you can do from inside only you need to open glass. Once if I have cracks from inside, I will try and make the video.
Subscibed
Took a heck of a long time
no clear coat finish?
Would comment the sandpaper in order what you used. Please
I’m going to give a try mine look just as bad
Very nice job man, i have the same cracks but lighter than these, you think staring with 180 is enough?
Hi, if is look like my light, you can try, buy my advice start same like me.
Would using a cordless angle grinder be overkill for something like this? Seems it sure would cut the time in half.
Should have stopped at 800 and then spray 2 coats of 2K clear. That would have been permanent.
Have you ever tryed removing 2k clearcoat from a headlight? A NIGHTMARE it's way to hard!!🤔
@@keithroberts5611 Yes, I’ve had to remove 2k from a lens because the guy who sprayed it, applied it incorrectly. It is very tough and time consuming which is why it’s the best option for a permanent solution. If done properly that is.
How do u stick sand paper in drilling machine show me the way PlZ
2022. Thank you.
Whats the difference between p60 c60
you should protect it with clear coat, a glossy clear film or a PPF for headlights otherwise you will have to polish it over again and again after a few weeks or so
I have the same problem with my headlight. can I use sanding machine ? it's not going to crack the plastic ?. by the way you did a nice job Bro
Thanks! You can use sanding machine, but not with sandpaper 60 or 80, first try with 600. My headlight was damaged a lot with lots of cracks. Goodluck and update me.
@@moriovlogs5576 hi. I tried with 320 and I going up until 3000 now the headlights look brand new.thank you
Happy to help!
Nice job buddy, those lights were really bad and you leave them like brand new, congrats...
Didn't know you can do try sanding by hand and still do it properly
I thought that kind of cracks were as deep as the plastic. But they are superficial.
Could it work on plastic part of washing machine? I have aqualtis hotpoint and after moving i wanted to remove scotch tape... I used acetone 🤦♀️ on white parts it worked great but in front glossy part it removed glossiness. What could help for that?
I don’t think you would need to sand just polish.
Good video.. anyway.. how can i know that the tiny crack come from inside or outside??
Almost always is from outside but you will feel when you touch .
How long did it take you to complete the one headlight? What all grits did you use and what wax you use?
Looked like hours!!! My method takes 30min !!
@@keithroberts5611 what’s your method??
I like all those pressure dents you put on the hood when you were leaning on it with your hands.
Now they need to be UV coated or they will go foggy & yellow in just a few months.
Exactly. Ceramic coating for paint will do the trick.
No No only use products that are designed and manufactured for headlights only, If its not written on the can don't use it!!!!
on the last hazy step, you didnt use a clearcoat .. others use mcguires plastic restorer n buf it with that.. We would like to know so we dont have to orange peel clear coat our headlights
When you used the 3m Fast Cut Plus, how can we buff it, without a nice buffer like you have?. and reach the final results like you with no orange peel clear on our lights? I wanna try this but need advice
You need a variable speed cordless drill,Select the highest speed when polishing slow- mid when sanding!! No only for headlights restoration, Great for jobs around the house and garden!! Worth investigating in one in my humble opinion!!!
You used a sand 60 grain and it is wrong. We need start with 1200, and if it no good, you can use 1000》 and then 800》and then 600 grain. We must never start with low sand.
Nice job.... but you just removed the hard coating which protects the polycarbonate lens agains UV.
You have to, the scratches are under it, what else do you expect, if he wants to add new coating it's up to him, or just regular wax or polish is good too.
Hi, may I know why are you not using water when using 60, 80, 120 grits? Is it more effective that way?
The reverse is true, As water acts like a lubricant and slows down sanding of the damaged surface!! Common sense really!!
Good job but I would have took 30 seconds and pull the assembly out
Please list all types of papers used to fix headlights in the description
Make sure to use wet/dry sandpaper
My opinion, I would NEVER attempt to use sandpaper on my headlights.
Great job though, I wonder how long does it last?
It last a long time if you use 2K clear coat and polish wax it like how you maintain the body paint regularly...
Sorry, but that is the only way to repair that level of damage. Wouldn't have started with 60 grit, though.
@@bigart9488 60 is overkill. Probably start with 600 or 400 if it so bad
@@perfectiom3718 I agree. I was replying to someone who said that they would never apply sandpaper to their headlights. 60 is too aggressive. 600 is as low as you should go.
@@ugyptkutan2662k shouldn't be used on headlights?? It's purpose is car body's and that's all!!!
I hate hate that clear coat I had to spend a really long time sanding before I said screw it and got 320 sand paper and used that 500 had no chance
How long did the polishing last? I thought you may need clear coat then polish? But yes same damage as mine I thought it was inside
Probably lasted about 4 months max. He didn't apply an uv protection to it.
No always use a headlight polish only first then stray a branded clearcoat keep away from 2k its a nightmare to remove when restoration comes around again as it's not permanent as people would have you believe!!👍👍
Brother by mistaken I used number 400 sand paper to remove waterspot on glasses and now the glasses have scratches. Please tell me how to recover it ? I am very anxious
Use Steel wool 0000 for windows and Chrome
start with 600 gritt, work up to 2000. VERY IMPORTANT. the last final step, you NEED to spray it with true 2k clear coat.
If you won't to damage your headlights permanently use 2k clearcoat??😂
