damn, i'm proud of you. i only smoke cigs and used to have a small alcohol problem combined with self destruction but i made it thru. trying to stop smoking. i felt like i needed drugs in order to cope many times, but actively stay away from all of it because my gut feeling tells me i'll never stop or get out of it the second i try anything. so thaks for the video, it means a lot
I think the worst part of addiction is the way we normalize it in our head. When I was younger I was scared of drugs, because it's dangerous. But then once I was doing coke it just felt as another task like drinking water. In my mind I didn't feel like I was doing something illegal or bad.

A superman drug for me. I went from needing it every week to now. Maybe having some 3 times a year.
It was, made it worse it was like the quick fix to any depression or anxiety

Listening to your story it is like you are in my head. I started early in life and quit for 20 plus years, now that I am older and my kids are grown, I have gotten back into it sadly. It takes the pain away and makes me feel like I can conquer the world. It is a daily struggle, not sure without responsibility of taking care of my children where I will find the will power to stop again.

Any opinions or advice for highly functioning users? Currently I’m getting all the positive with no negatives.
Only have done weed and alcohol, but each of those first 5 times I smoked weed were probably some of the magical few hours of my life. I remember being on the roof with my friends, full moon, stars bright, and looking out at the mountains. I want those times back really bad tbh. Weed abuse is bad, but the drug itself isn’t all that bad. Something about being sober all your life and then feeling a substance change your mood was, if you let it, a really euphoric and magical feeling - that first high.
