    Where does it say that there is a pretribulation rapture anywhere in the Bible and why do so many believe that?

    _Ezekiel __38:10__ ‘Thus says the Lord God, “It will come about on that day, that thoughts will come into your mind and you will devise an evil plan, 11 and you will say, ‘_*_I will go up against the land of unwalled villages. I will go against those who are at rest, that live securely_*_, all of them living without walls and having no bars or gates_
    This passage alone should tell you that this can't be talking about modern-day State of Israel. Israel has not live at rest and securely since 1948. There has been constant unrest and heightened state of alert.
    Gog of Magog was a literal person and kingdom. Revelation borrows from this to show how the forces of wickedness oppose the people of God.

      ***** Let me ask you this: According to Romans 9:6-8 are the vast majority of those who live in the State of Israel called Israel?

    • @tonymuse
      @tonymuse Před 8 lety

      ***** You are correct, But Paul is actually saying that non-believing Jews are not counted as Israel at all. God no longer favors a _people_ (race) as His chose people.
      If I am not mistaken, your belief that "Israel" will accept the _antichrist_ as their messiah is rooted in Daniel's 70-week prophecy, correct? Read Daniel 9:24-27 very carefully in any non-paraphrased version of the Bible, do you see Gabriel speaking of or even introducing an end-times antichrist figure? There are only two people talked about here; the Prince (Messiah), and the prince whose armies come to destroy the temple and city, there is no future _antichrist_ figure mentioned in this prophecy.
      Now, if there are only two people introduced, then it *has* to be one of those two who makes a strong covenant with many. Who is it that made a strong, everlasting covenant with many in the midst of the one week?

    • @tonymuse

      ***** . Capitalization and punctuation were added by translators. Titus was a prince, his father was emperor of Rome, the greatest empire the world has ever known. The whole prophesy is about the rebuilding of the city, the finishing up of the earthly sacrificial system, the coming of the Messiah and the destruction of the temple and city. All of this has been fulfilled. The concept of a future antichrist is never mentioned or introduced in this prophecy.
      You can "write in" church age if you like, but I will not change the word of God.

      ***** Romans 9:6-8 is *the* context for all three chapters, this isn't a progression of Israel. Paul defines two types of Israel, those according the flesh and those who are according to belief in the Promise. We Gentile believers have been grafted onto that Israel. The all Israel who are saved are those who are Israel because of their belief. Paul didn't say "*then* all Israel will be saved" as in a future salvation of national Israel. He is talking about the method of which salvation comes, through belief. This applies to both the natural and cultivated branches.

      ***** By saying that I have been "taught badly" is your opinion based upon your dispensational beliefs, with that in mind I would actually count that as a compliment. I thank God that I was not taught with dispensationalism as my ecumenical background. You do realize that you are using dispensational teachers to support your theory, right? Of course they agree with you, that is why you esteem them so highly. Follow what the Bible says and not the teachings of man for they will only tickle your ears with what you want to hear. This teaching came about because of the side notes in the Scofield Bible. If you want to see what was being taught prior to this, refer to theologians like Matthew Henry (1612-1714), he properly connects the events regarding the prophecies found in Daniel 27 to what Jesus said in the Olivet discourse regarding the abomination that causes desolation. Scroll down to the bottom of this page: www.biblestudytools.com/commentaries/matthew-henry-complete/daniel/7.html
      Why don't we look at the Hebrew instead of an English translation, for men tend to capitalize and punctuate to suit their own doctrinal beliefs. The first prince is _mashiach_, or anointed. No doubt this is Christ and we both agree on that point. The second is _nagid_, or a leader, ruler, prince. His armies come to destroy the city and temple, this can only be Titus. After that, no other individual has been introduced into this prophecy. To insert a third individual into this prophecy would be to imply that God's clear word to Daniel was incomplete, this is improperly handling scripture.
      I never said that we were grafted onto national Israel. There are essentially two Israels; one being the natural seed of Abraham, the other being those who believe in the Promise. They are a sort of "spiritual Israel", if you wish. The name "Israel" was a name given to Jacob by God that signifies "one who contends with God". Anyone who accepts the Son contends with God, and not against Him as those branches who have been broken off did and still do. Paul called himself part of a remnant who believed in the Promise, and this remnant was always there among the Israel of the flesh, that is why Paul compares himself to Elijah at the beginning of chapter 11. In Galatians 6:15, 16 Paul actually refers to the church as being the "Israel of God". The church in Galatia was not congregation of national Jews, they were believers in Christ who were a new creation.
      The believing Jews (true Israel) were the church for a period of time before Peter was given the rooftop vision, and this was a fulfilling of Hosea 2:18 _In that day I will also make a covenant for them (Israel) With the beasts of the field, The birds of the sky And the creeping things of the ground._ The creatures that were on the sheet in that vision were the same as what Hosea prophesied about. The Gentiles were those unclean creatures and together with the remnant of Israel Christ has made a covenant with us. The Jewish disciples were the foundation stones of the church and it was initially built with fleshy stones who were Jews that believed. The Gentiles who later came in were grafted into that body of believers making the tree made up of both cultivated and wild olive branches. The is comprised of all those who believe in the Promise, it is not national Israel. The nourishing root that all of the branches partake of is no other than Christ.
      I agree with you, Calvinism is filled with erroneous doctrines. Paul makes it very clear that even the wild branches can be broken if they cease in their belief. Our remaining attached to the root or abiding in the vine is what is required for our salvation.
      Zechariah 12? This illustrates another glaring issue with Dispensationalism for it fails to acknowledge that at the cross the physical became spiritual. Jesus foretold of this in John 4 when He told the woman from Samaria that true worshipers of God would do so in spirit and not on this mountain or that. It is the New Jerusalem that we should be longing for, not old Jerusalem, we are God's people (Israel), we are the temple of God made of fleshy stones (physical temple).
      British Empire greater than Roman? I guess it depends on how you look at it. The British Empire did span around the globe, but the effects of the Roman Empire on culture, architecture and government were more substantial and far-reaching. The Roman reached from England to northeast Africa and contained everything in between, whereas the British Empire was more of the colonial variety. One dominated the entire civilized world, the other tended to only thrive in expansionary areas. It could also be said that the British Empire was only able to exist because of the void created by the downfall of the Roman. Considering the times and methods of travel available to both kingdoms, I would have to give my vote to the Roman.

    No, he's wrong on one key point, the battle of Gog and Magog occurs *before* the Tribulation ever begins. In fact, it's in the aftermath of this battle, and the global collapse that occurs after it, that brings in the Antichrist onto the world scene. Just because Ezekiel 39 mentions a "7-year" period, in reference to Israel cleaning up the mess from this battle, doesn't mean that is the same 7 years of the Tribulation. Moreover, It's also because of the Gog and Magog battle, and Islam losing in such a miraculous way, as well as God saying that all "walls will fall" on that Gog Magog day, that finally allows Israel to rebuild its Temple in the years following the battle. Once the Temple is complete, the Jews and Israel itself, will become a nationally religious nation one more, not seen since the days of ancient Israel, and so shall they begin to cry out for a Messiah to lead them. Enter Antichrist, and his 7 years.

    Ezekial 38 is after the millenium, Rev 20 7 And when the thousand years
    are expired, Satan shall be loosed out of his prison,8 And shall go out
    to deceive the nations which are in the four quarters of the earth, Gog,
    and Magog, to gather them together to battle: the number of whom is as
    the sand of the sea.9 And they went up on the breadth of the earth, and
    compassed the camp of the saints about, and the beloved city: and fire
    came down from God out of heaven, and devoured them.

      james Valance! Ezekial 38 is after the millenium? and fire
      came down from God out of heaven and devoured them. YES! Now you might like to explain these scriptures; Ezekiel 38; 9 And they that dwell in the cities of Israel shall go forth, and shall set on fire and burn the weapons, both the shields and the bucklers, the bows and the arrows, and the handstaves, and the spears, and they shall burn them with fire seven years:10 So that they shall take no wood out of the field, neither cut down any out of the forests; for they shall burn the weapons with fire: and they shall spoil those that spoiled them, and rob those that robbed them, saith the Lord God.11 And it shall come to pass in that day, that I will give unto Gog a place there of graves in Israel, the valley of the passengers on the east of the sea: and it shall stop the noses of the passengers: and there shall they bury Gog and all his multitude: and they shall call it The valley of Hamongog.12 And seven months shall the house of Israel be burying of them, that they may cleanse the land. So please explain how the Hebrews are burying bodies for 7 months when the scriptures say the bodies are burnt up by fire? What exactly would the Hebrews be doing burning weapons for 7 years at the end of Christs 1000 reign on earth after a new heaven and earth are made and the New Jerusalem comes to the earth?

    John you better have a open mind because your wrong about Ezek, 38. Ezek. 38.8; A LONG TIME from now you (Gog/Magog) will be called into action in the DISTANT FUTURE (post millennium) . You will swoop down on the land of Israel with a vast and awesome horde.I (God) will send torrential rain, hailstones, fire, burning sulfur,etc
    Revelation 20.7; At the end of the millennium Satan will be set free and he will go to every corner of the earth to gather a mighty host (Gog/Magog) as numberless as the sand along the shore..You will surround God's people and the beloved city, bt fire came down from heaven and consumed them.
    Ezek 38 war and Rev. 20 war is one and the same war, ;
    Ezek.38: I God will put hooks in your mouth (Gog/Magog) and lead you to Israel where you will be totally destroyed by fire. WHY This is last an total CLEANSING of earth of all sin prior to the return of the Father to earth. Where GOD the Father is no sin can exit in his kingdom.
    Gog/Magog can't be a nation or race of people but is a Satanic spirit (anti Christ) on earth. Gog/Magog (above) horde come from all places on earth where sin exists.
    Sin will exist no more in the universe. (short version)
