3861 Hesalite Speedmaster Professional. In my personal opinion, if anyone goes for a one watch collection this is the one watch to have.
The Speedmaster was NOT built to go the moon. It was built for racing. It was SELECTED to go the moon.
Agree so much. Other Speedmasters are hardly ever featured.
Agreed, but it had to pass the NASA tests in order to be used as standard equipment for space missions. No other watch submitted from various manufacturers passed the NASA tests and regardless, it is still a descendant of the originals and is still the only watch officially endorsed by NASA to go into space.
I’ve had mine for over 20 years. Cost me £1300ish brand new. I love it.
Seiko ‘Save The Ocean’ on the wrist today. Got the Speedy with Heselite crystal on bracelet and I love this watch. I love the traditional aspects of this watch and the fact that it is made for Space and yes I love manually winding the watch. It brings me back to my childhood when watching the challenges of the Apollo astronauts on the moon. Don’t miss the date and yes there are some scuffs on the crystal but that doesn’t matter at all.
“Save the ocean “ is such a beautiful dial!
It wasn’t made for space. NASA bought it out of a jewelry shop and tested it along with others and it’s the one that made the cut.
This really needs to be experienced - and in my view, with the new updated bracelet. It's just SO good. Everyting about the new sapphire and bracelet is just stunning and will go with anything from a suit and tie, to a t-shirt and jeans
The sapphire is both much more expensive and historically inaccurate. I love the fact that you can see the back but, the moon watch is the hesalite model !
@@theoldman5924 Well both is a different watch than the original, so might as well give it a beautiful crystal.
But great there is an option for both camps
@@DeeKay1911 i agree but the hesalite creates amazing light shades, it’s really nice to see (it’s as if the colour of the bezel went from black to blue)
MADE IN CHINA is 'what it is' when china-produced parts are 'assembled in Switzerland'. Swiss law has NO COMMAND over the language itself, Swiss or English, so over "50% of the watch's value deriving from Switzerland" (LAW), satisfied by the 200 Euro/hr act of Swiss workers merely ASSEMBLING the china-parts, DOESNT make it "made in Switzerland", nor "Swiss made", which makes the WHOLE THING A DAMNED LIE, FRAUD. "Sharp edges" on the case and the bracelet, some say, and I beleive them. Not buying the damn thing. Listen up, watch-guys.
@Lee in France the hesalite costs 6500€ and the saphir 8000€, huge difference
Currently on my wrist is actually the Moonwatch Hesalite Cal. 1861 and this one will stay in my collection forever. Hopefully it will be passed down as a heirloom one day.
On my wrist, the 2024 Omega Speedmaster Professional Sapphire Sandwich. Love it
Wrist check: today I wear a vintage Vostok Komandirske with a tank on the dial. Mechanical and with barely 30-something hrs of power reserve so I have to wind it every day - and I love it honestly. Great watch with incredibly reliable soviet movement that runs now, after adjusting it, with ~ +5 seconds a day, and before I got it, it was not serviced for ~18 years and was running without fault!
This watch although inexpensive is sort of a family heirloom, my great grandfather passed it to my father who passed it to me.
On my wrist… Slate dial Omega 41mm Aqua Terra, with a navy/white-stitch Artem band, RM deployant. I had a Speedmaster 69 ST “pre-moon” from 1970 to 2000, when it was stolen. I really miss that watch.
Tudor fxd mn21. Absolutely love it. I have the speedy w hesalite. It is such a beauty. I sometimes wear it all day without even winding it. I just love wearing it and looking at it. Timekeeping is secondary
Omega, please next ceramic bezel for the sapphire and aluminum one for the hesalite. Thanks.
I liked your video a lot, its done really well, right up there with professionals. Not sure what is going on with the audio though. Booming loud the first few seconds of each clip, then trailing off to where the words are sometimes barely audible. Thanks for putting this review together!

Nice review! Sapphire sandwich all the way for me!
I really appreciate you giving all the dimensions and even the weight! That’s a big factor too. Overall I think this watch wears much smaller than the spec sheet would suggest. A lot of the height is from the crystal and the actual case is 40mm, the crown guards on the right size are where the extra 2mm comes from.

I just picked this up last weekend for a 40th birthday present to myself. Sapphire + steel
Currently have an OG Black Bay 58 on my wrist and I'm currently watching this just after buying a sapphire sandwich 2021 Speedmaster! My perfect luxury two watch collection that I've listed after for so long! Just need to get that Grand Seiko and I'm complete 🙌.
Gotta love the moonwatch. Favourite Brequet is the Type XX.
The start of each clip's volume is high and end is low. What is going on?
Great review, spoke with my watch guy today and he’s getting the process started for purchasing my first Omega Speedmaster Professional Moon watch. Super excited. Gave him all the references numbers so I get the exact watch I want. Told him I wanted new and it must come with all papers, tags and box no exceptions. Been waiting for this a long time. I worked for NASA on the Shuttle Program for a number of years and I have personally meet many of the men that walked on the surface of the moon. I even have a collection of Apollo, my watch won’t get here soon enough.
3:19 just to clarify: Crystal is not glass and glass is not crystal.
It's Saphire crystal and Hesalite glass.
And that is why the one shatters and the other is scratched.
''crystal'' is the technical term for the transparent disk on top of the dial, regardless of material
@@guest301500 Yes it is a term though not technical as you say, far from it.
But my point is that there is no "Saphire crystal glass" that he keeps mentioning. Sapphire is crystal not glass and there is a reason for mentioning the materials on a watch and that is the material properties. It's exactly the same as mentioning the case material.
My favourite Breguet would have to be any of the Marine lines, amazing sizes, classic vintage style, possibly one of the best dress watches!
Great Video!
Imho the Moonwatch with Hesalite (and a bit of Polywatch polish 2 times a year) is better choice than the sapphire version!
My favorite Breguet is the Type XXI wich uses very similar movement to my second favorite Speedmaster- the 125th anniversary cal. 1041 central minutes counter chronograph
On my wrist now is the Christopher Ward Sealander GMT-ombré green dial on a black rubber/canvass hybrid strap that I purchased for my vacation/holiday to Hawaii. I’m in Hawaii right now, wearing my souvenir that I bought because I left…because…I needed it for work, right? It’s been in the Pacific Ocean, and covered in mud from off roading on ATV’s in the rain in the jungle where they filmed Jurassic Park. Great video.
TAG Heuer Aquaracer Calibre 5 41mm with rubber strap on my wrist today. Aiming for the Omega Speedmaster Professional. Hopefully someday.
Last Saturday 07/31/2022 I bought this beautiful watch. The appearance is quite striking and I love the Sapphire Crystals front and back. Although it's hard to find a criticism of this piece, I'm really not fond of the taper to the very thin clasp. The tapered bracelet just looks disproportionate to the 42 mm size of the case. It's a personal preference certainly, but the thin clasp does not inspire much confidence in the strength and durability of the bracelet. Other than that, this watch is extraordinary in every detail.

Mind sharing what you paid? I’m very interested in purchasing the 3861 sandwich myself.
@@lbyoung8420 I paid full retail of $7,200 plus sales tax. No regrets at all!
@@charleydavis7097 I appreciate the transparency!
@@kaisoerfjord6794 f-off. You got laid off my omega for sleeping on the job or something? Hahaha
What's your problem pal? You've been doing all the rounds. Relax! It's not your money!
Breguet Classique 38mm in white gold would be my pick, quintessential design cues and easy to wear with that size. Hoping to win & Good luck to all
Wearing my NOMOS Club Datum 38.5 with the Alpha hand wind movement
Wearing my ceramic Daytona and white gold GMT Master (yeah I'm double wristing today), whilst seriously considering whether to add the latest Speedy to my collection
Dude if you can afford those two, you can afford this one.
Wrist check - Hamilton Khaki Field Mechanical 38mm, white dial on a brown leather NATO strap
The omega speedmaster is the most historical chronograph ever… change my mind
Can’t change a hard fact
They are releasing the new rubber strap that is currently on the moonshine gold Speedmaster soon. Bracelet, NATO, and upcoming rubber will make this watch do it all.
Seamaster 300m on the wrist today for me in blue on rubber. Breguet Marie Antoinette in my favourite.
If you're not going to the moon any time soon, get the sapphire version. Your backup moonswatch can be used if you ever decide to go to space.
My favorite Breguet model has to be the Breguet Tradition 7047. My dream dress watch.
Currently wearing the Rolex Explorer 214270 39mm mk2 dial. I have been exploring the Omega Speedmaster 38mm reduced as it is one of the only automatics they have left in the current collection, would love to see a review of it as there aren’t many on CZcams. I know it is normally overshadowed by the moonwatch but for many people with smaller wrists, 38mm might be a good size
I wouldn’t buy the reduced if I were you. It has a module chronograph movement that’s basically impossible to service. Usually watchmakers can’t do it and when you send it to Omega, they just replace the whole module. This usually costs around $1000 or more each time. The watch itself goes for under $3k used so you are spending a third of the total cost every few years on servicing. Doesn’t make sense to me, too expensive to service.
The Professional is actually a 40mm watch, the extra 2mm width comes from the crown guards that fill up a lot of space on the right side. That’s why it wears smaller than the 42mm spec would suggest. Also a 47mm lug to lug and closer to 11mm case height (measurement without the crystal) it wears really well, probably very similar to your 39mm Explorer.
I wouldn't buy the reduced.. it's a totally different beast these 3861's. You won't appreciate the speedmaster with the reduced.
Hope this helps 🙂
The 38mm Auto is also a great looking watch!
@@_Peter_. tried it on, somehow the subdials suggested a more feminine look? I always had the feeling this was geared towards women.
Just me of course.
Regards
This watch set the precedence for the start of big watches because this was a huge watch in the late sixties or early seventies.
Certina DS PH500M on the wrist today. And my favourite Breguet has to be the Type XX! Great video, Speedmaster is a long-term goal of mine, simply iconic!
I'm a Rolex/Tudor fan, Speedmaster is the only model I like in Omega, as I think SMP is too messy with full of dots and the silly helium escape valve..
Not having a go, but you referred to one of the most famous tool watches in history, a 42mm chronograph on a nylon strap, as a dressy watch. It just kind of left me scratching my head.
Hesalite isn’t fragile at all. It’s made to be beaten up. Polywatch sorts out the scuffs if you like, and you get a new crystal at servicing. The hesalite is arguably the far sportier option. It comes on a brushed bracelet and it can survive impacts that would destroy a sapphire watch. Saying sapphire is sportier because it can go indefinitely without superficial scratches isn’t logical. That’s what you want from a dress watch. Pristine details with no impact resistance required.
Most instances where you’d 100% mar a hesalite crystal you run a strong chance of damaging sapphire too. Namely contact with stuff like artifical stone walls and rails. That *can* scratch sapphire at times and you’d keep any watch away from it if you could help it. Even a hard ding in a doorknob or branch would just scuff hesalite. Then you buff it out in 3 mins.
I love Watchfinder and Co but he did the watch world a massive disservice breaking both a hesalite and a sapphire crystal with a hammer in a video.
People now believe they have similar impact resistance. This is like saying a 5 year old and Mike Tyson have similar toughness because a truck running them over would kill them both.
If you drop a hesalite fitted watch
down on a tile floor it WILL NOT break, there’s isn’t enough force. Sapphire will shatter a high percentage if the time.
Don’t get me wrong, I love sapphire watch crystals, it’s just I can’t say it’s a good idea to ignore the history and the superior appearance of this one model in hesalite just to match the experience we’re conditioned to from other watches.
People say “pfft, who cares? I’m not going to space.” Yet try to give them a Seamaster or Submariner with 50m of water resistance even though 99% of them won’t even go out in the rain, much less scuba dive. The roleplay matters.
My favourite Breguet model is the Number 3795PT/1E/9WU, classic complication absolutely beauty and super well balanced for the eye. What do you think ?
Agreed!
On my watch is one of my favourites the Farer Discovery II.
WRUW -- Omega Speedmaster Professional - 2021 version. With Hesalite.
I'm looking at an Orient 40mm dive watch with white dial and black bezel today.
Im wearing the speedmaster 3861 in hesalite.
My favourite Breguet model is definitely the 3237! The perfect mix between vintage & modern
An Omega 300 Diver 007 Edition, NTTD is on the wrist today. Have a Speedy Pro, Hesalite on a bracelet.
wearing the new version of the mark 2 for the moon watch I go vintage I have a 1964 with 321 and a 1969 861. I love all of them
My early 1990’s seamaster on my wrist as I wait for my Speedmaster to arrive
The Breguet Type XX XXI XXII Automatic Mens Watch 3810ST92SZ9 would be my choice. Great review.
3861 Sapphire on my wrist. Perfect.👏🇦🇺
Sorry, just like with water, you can't put a splash of red on the moonwatch! It is what it is, and was!
My Breguet would be the Marine automatic. Keep the geat content coming!
The sapphire version is worth every penny, it really looks more expensive with the bracelet then the asking price, its stunning. Honestly first time i saw it in real life i was like is this what's all the hype is about? I was not that impressed then i saw it again another day on some random guys wrist and it grabbed my attention it looked so elegant and sporty, it had such a nice appearance, i immediately went to Omega and tried it on hand, i was sold. I fell in love. I think this watch need to be seen on somebody elses wrist in real life for those who dont think its anything special. Trust me this watch is special and screams luxury. I understand the following fanboys now, im slowly becoming one. Im so blessed to have this watch, it's so stylish and attention grabbing without trying to be. And the lume is very good on this. Im in a position now where i understand both sides the haters and the lovers. I did not like it myself immediately i mean it was ok but not worth my money, but after i saw it on that guy suddenly my opinion changed and i saw it in a different light. And the appreciation just grew from there.
Go to him!
I don’t think the seamaster is an iconic watch and I think that’s partly because of its paid product placement but the speedy is possibly the most iconic watch of all time - which is why I’m so conflicted by the moonswatch. I think this hesalite model on nylon is my choice and the one most likely closest to the original
Favourite watch has to be the type XXI 3810. On my wrist is the Omega Seamaster 300 with white dial.
Wearing a Sturmanskie Sputnik rep -seems appropriate! Fave Breg Classique… stylish and sort of vaguely dreamily affordable!!!
Does the hesalite scratch that easily or does it still take a good hit to scratch it
If you catch the light right there’s a tiny Omega symbol in the centre of the plastic crystal. I found it by accident.
My Favourite Breguet is the Breguet Type XXI.. Just a stunning looking aviator
They did not use sapphire because it was not available as a watch material at that time.
Wearing the Tag Heuer 160th anniversary Carrera - Breguet Alarm Musicale is my choice
On my wrist today is a Tudor Harrods special Edition.
Incredible! I've always wanted to see one of them in person.
Your introduction is very clear and with yourself idea! Its quite unique
The breguet classique chronometrie is my favourite, that magnetic pivot escapement is mind blowing
Love the Breguet Type XX Divers style
How do you feel towards the racing version compared to the pro? It is 40mm but very thick. My wrist being 16.9cm I wonder If the pro would feel right.
The racingn price is enticing.
Unfortunately I can only afford the MoonSwatch, not the Moonswatch, but it is definitely my favourite watch. I like also the Breguet Type XXI 3815.
My daily datejust with fluted bezel, have the oyster on it for the minute cos it's a bit more casual than the jubilee. Speedy is on the list but think Tudor are pushing it down the list, the BB Pro is gorgeous
Solid choices…
Tudor is ok, but IMHO it is not at the same level as a Speedmaster…or Submariner…or Santos… (design, history, heritage)
Just saw on my writs: the new Speedy, sapphire sandwich, 3861!
Very nice review. I love my Omega Speedmaster Moonwatch.
Great video 👍, I am with the sapphire crystal model too and today I'm wearing a Alpina seastrong heritage ⌚️
Good choice!
Hello sir, absolutely brilliant video, the community adores your high energy, enthusiasm!
My absolute favourite Breguet is the previous generation marine, on the factory rubber and the Breguet hat will work so well! I do hope I win!!!
Thank you kindly!
My favourite Breguet is the Breguet Marine in 18k rose gold and brown leather strap 😊
Thank you for the opportunity to win that awesome cap!
Hi, Firstly Happy Friday and secondly congratulations! You have won one of our Breguet hats. Please could you email youtube@chisholmhunter.co.uk and we can go through the details with you and send it out. Thank you for your continued support on this channel and for being a part of this great watch community.
Good review but can you sort out your mic levels? Shorty at the start then go quiet.
Thanks Oliver. we are actually getting a new audio system in the next few weeks so it should be sorted soon!
On my wrist is a self made seiko nh35 build
Can you do a Video on Heuer Monaco Calbrie 11 blue dail Steve McQueen please thinking to add a Monaco to my Watch Collection Patek Philippe Nautilus 5711, Rolex Submariner.
Great review thanks for doing it on the strap, I just ordered this on this strap personally not a fan of bracelets I like this style of strap reminds me of the strap on my oris Pro pilot though I will likely put it on one of omegas nasa nato straps.
Simply my best watch with the the Seamaster 300 Heritage !
On my wrist is the Speedy pro Saffire sandwish 3861!
On my wrist is a seiko alpinist (spb117)
Great choice!
Nice watch, my watch today is a Oris aquis calibre 400 , blue dial.
If you only have to pick one between the seamaster 300m and the speedmaster, which one is more “iconic”?
Do you really have to ask? Which one of those two made history?
Breguet Double Tourbillon hands down
Lovely watch. Going down to the shops is exactly when you have to worry.......getting mugged,
I've wore one for 31 years, not once have i been mugged.
Speak Softly & Carry a Big SticK
Fantastic watch.
Was put off about the no date.
I use the minute register as a date window and works great.
I think a date might be problematic with a manual wind watch, more of a hassle.
I would generally agree.
As a daily driver though, I and so many other people need a date.
Using the 30 minute counter isn't perfect.
But it dose the job.
Love the Omega speed master, what I got in my wrist tonight mate is a TIMEX indigo Walmart special Edition 😺 love your Chanel mate awesome 🙌👏🤘🇦🇺
I'm just gonna find a Cash Machine ,
Nice Omega indeed "...

Very intesting review, Chris. But you were-for a german guy-a little hard to understand because of the strong accent you have... where are you from, maybe Scotland ? Cheers Stefan
I am indeed from Scotland! good ear!
Omega Seamaster Aquaterra green on my wrist right now.
How does it wear? I love the green dial!
@@ChisholmHunterOfficial quietly stylish, comfortably invisible yet magnificent. I have it on a leather black flieger strap from Stowa… They make superb solid leather straps for surprisingly low cost, and this goes very well with my full-size Aquaterra.
Beautiful watch I'm wearing the black on black awesome watch love ❤️ it
Isn't a Breguet cap weird? I would have seen a Breguet béret as ideal.
Beautiful shots man. That nylon strap is amazing.
It really is! Thank you.
NASA used hesalite because if a sapphire watch crystal was broken in zero gravity the tiny crystal or glass shards would float around the Apollo capsule and could easily get into the eyes of the astronauts.
First time viewer, loved the video - thanks! On the wrist for me is my Tag Heuer Carrera Flyback (Calibre 36)
Am I the only one that hears o-me-ga vs O-meg-ah??? Great review either way.
It's the Scottish accent!
Great video, thank you for sharing.
Thanks for watching!
On my wrist is my omega speed master dark side of the moon please share your opinion
Favorite Breguet for me is the Marine 5527
Love the copious wrist shots! Great video!!🥃
Glad you like them!
Can anyone advise if you buy this watch with a nylon strap can you later buy the stainless bracelet from omega? I can’t seem to get a straight answer to this online.
Yeah Mate, both watches are great..... So i decided my first "real" watch was the Speedmaster in Hesalite Cal. 1861. One year after i purchase the SMP 300 diver in Blue..... next step, i´m on a wating list for a Rolex Explorer 2 with white dial.. Black, Blue & White Dial... it´s not just the colours, i admire the mechanic of each three watches. For the "real" first Watch you can effort, i will always go with the Speedmaster.. Because, you can wear it with a leather strape, metal bracelet or a Nato Strap. For every occasion you have the best watch!!
p. S on my wrist is today my smp 300 Blue diver, tomorrow, it´s a business meeting i wear my Speedmaster ;)
