FK8 Civic Type R gets SERIOUS upgrades! (PracWorks Intake Manifold) | Dream Automotive

- Welcome back to the Dream Automotive CZcams channel! This week you join us with this beautiful yellow FK8 Type R... no, it's not one of the 20 Limited Edition FK8 Civic Type R's that were sold in the UK, it's a 2021 facelift model which has had an amazing wrap carried out! This gives us the looks of the LE without the hefty price tag.
This car has previously been with us for some upgrades, some of which we have installed in some peculiar places... we fitted an Eventuri during one of our FK'ing Coffee Mornings and a Mugen Front Lip at a show held at The British Motor Museum! Luckily this time around, we have the car for a few days INSIDE of our workshop.
One of the upgrades this car is having with us this time around is the amazing PracWorks Carbon Intake Manifold, it is seriously a work of art! This is the first one we have fitted and tested on our dyno. The manufacture make some bold claims for this manifold so we have been looking forward to put it through its paces.

I’m sorry, but the “boy ricer” fk8s look way better than the fl5s imo. That aggressive look and angles are 🔥🔥🔥
As an Fk8 owner I fully agree. The FL5 is a nice car but it was the angular lines of the Fk8 that drew me towards a Honda and I’ve enjoyed every minute of ownership. If I should modify Dream are the only people I’d take my car too.
The way I described it is that Honda heard the criticism over the aggressive styling of the FK8 and went too far in the other direction, making the FL5 look "too adult" and too generic.
Even if they were the same price, I'd rather take the FK8.
It definitely doesn't take a lot to level the FL5 up, though! A splitter and some better fitment goes a long way 🙌

Damn, nice manifold for FK8 and I am sure the manifold is much better thank stock a like he explained to us about it but it would be cool to dyno test on stock vs plenum manifold on hp and torque as comparison. Great job! Neat FK8! That’s my dream to get one someday! 👍😁

You can push it past 400 the problem is the tq when they put to much below like a certain rpm is when you bend rods

Do the torque specs on those rampage bolts change compared to oem? I'd assume to get the right amount of stretch on the bolt you'd have to go tighter

would you guys blv i if i said i bought 3 LE FK8 type Rs? 2 are in Dubai and I'm selling both, the last was just purchased recently, its the one with all Mugen stuff on it and was stolen from the guy, got it stripped and I'll be working on restoring the whole thing!!
Does the intake manifold do anything performance wise or is it mainly a cosmetic thing?
The longer inlet path and larger plenum on the PracWorks manifold change the driving characteristics of the car dramatically. Phil and Romain both give feedback in regards to how it changed the car during tuning and on the road 🙌

any overheating issues ?
The temperatures were very stable during tuning and during road test, however the car wasn't under the sort of conditions you would experiences on a track-day during either of these.
I'll be monitoring it closely on the track in a couple of weeks time, so will let you know.

No overheating issues, happy to report, after some hard driving all at croft this week. Torque and pull in 3rd and 4th gear is unreal 😮.

why BOV kit? Its been proven its not good for 10th gen Civics
Although it is true that issues were found early on, HKS fixed the problem on their BOV kit a long time ago by simply using a stronger internal spring.
