hey sir i want to thank you yo! I got the 1938 edition of the seven pillars of wisdom with the original jacket - but some halfwit had to repair it with tape before i could lay my hands on it - and now due to your advice i managed to remove it without destroying the hole thing - THANK YOU (hope you are doing well)
You just saved my WWII poster. I used the iron on low for one minute, then a single edged razor tool to scrape it off. Not perfect, but presentable. Thank you. I was afraid I'd have to trash it.
mastermooky, I am not sure about record covers since they are a different material than the type used for music printing. Any attempt to fix the problem may make it worse or do damage so experiment on something that you don't care about using low heat and careful about pulling the tape. It may be better to do nothing rather than damage something you care about. If you don't have an electric eraser, just use a soft vinyl eraser.
what about that white paper tape on a record cover. I have a beatles album signed by them all, but someone covered part of a signature with this weird white paper tape. very old, what can I do to preserve the ink signature underneath? thanks
Having a bit of an issue with removing what looks like brown paper tape from old movie posters ....this process is not working too well ,any other suggestions ?

What can I use to remove the adhesive if I don't have an electric eraser? I'm also removing tape that's not that old from sheet music.
Are there certain types of erasers that work better than others? Does it depend on the type of glue?
Have some expensive sports cards I’m gunna try this with... they were taped into a team poster in the eighties and are now worth a little $. Cheers
Did it work?
