Thank you for talking about the safety of induction. My mother is hardly elderly but she forgets something on the stove at least once a week. She's burned many pots, I even had to ban her from cooking at my house. I've considered fire blankets or even basic fire suppression devices for her kitchen. I'm going to try replacing her gas range with an induction. PS - I LOVE the rankings.
Surprised the GE Cafe 30" slide-in with dual ovens wasn't on this list. Have spoken to a few owners and everyone seems happy, especially with the induction part. The ovens take maybe an extra 15-20 min to heat up. The product line is supposed to be one of the easiest to find service centers for.
I have my second 36” wolf induction, first one was a disaster and the second one the whole glass gets extremely hot when burners are on mid low, many other little problems as well, none of the burners stay on high, they keep turning off by itself, oven works perfectly the burners are absolute nightmare
I hope you have asked Wolf to resolve this for you. Even if you replaced the range already, if the replacement is working perfectly, you need another replacement.
Good question (I have been saying that a lot today)....I would say you will be seeing more induction as manufacturers invest in the tech more. But I havent seen anything in the near future
A lot of people don't want touchscreens and WiFi and all the techy nonsense that, frankly, can just stop functioning. We want knobs you can actually turn. I wish Wolf would make a 36" induction range with knobs. A lot of people would buy it.
6:14 I have always wondered about something... Gaggenau has only single convection ovens but their ovens are considered the best in the game...how do they do the oven game well when with the more basic convection system when others with single convection are seen as a negative like the Thermador here...
Great question....Gaggenau seems to be built to a different standard. They also have more modes and elements for more even cooking. You can also adjust more precisely to 1 degree
@@YaleAppliance1 I have a follow up question. Been waiting for a gaggenau ovens video to ask but I guess I will do it here - other than size, is there a difference between the 24" and 30" gaggenau ovens in terms of features and performance?
I found the Bosch as a scratched special close by. It becomes the cheapest available in my area. But i heard the cooling fan is crazy loud have you heard this?
GREAT question...GE, Bosch, Whirlpool and Miele have their own service. SubZero does in our market as well, but it really depends where you live as some are better than others. Check reviews on Google..just type in service to see which is best
Subzero by far, their factory certified installers even add a year of factory warranty. Miele is good if they service in your area. Bosch will blame the installer even if it’s a Bosch contractor
Hello there! Love your rating system. Can you *please* tell me where the 30" BlueStar induction range would land on this rating? When will the 48" be coming? Is there going to be a 36" ? AND why did you give the Fisher Paykel only a B? I guess I wasn't clear why? Love the look. Okay with smaller oven. Is it reliable?? Thank you! (will be purchasing from Boston area ;)
I havent really looked at the BlueStar 30 inch. Their 48 inch will be later this year. Fisher Paykel is out now with theirs. Love F&P, but the oven is smaller
I have the F&P Classic 36" Induction Range. The cooktop design and simple features were what got me to buy it. I love the cooktop design, the center element and the flanking bridge-capable large elements. I wish this came in a rangetop. Unfortunately, electronics of the display went fritzy and the little knob broke when the tech was fixing the electronics. Parts take a while. The knobs are a bit uncomfortable to use. The oven is not awesome, things burn and cook unevenly. In my next home, I'll probably bring this range with me and keep enjoying the cooktop - which is truly great. I'll get some wolf or cafe double ovens to supplement. Wish I didn't have to do all that to get the best of both worlds.
Good question. Most take the full 50 amp circuit, so any kind of spike will cause issues. Electricians say to buy a "smoother" which reduces the chances of spikes affecting the stove
@@YaleAppliance1 We have a 2018 Wolf 36" induction cooktop, installed in mid-2019 into a new all-electric geothermal home, and Knock-on-Wood, have not had any issues in the upper MW (good # of thunderstorms and snowstorms).
@@YaleAppliance1 I currently put a induction cooktop on top of my gas range but really need a full induction range with oven to replace it all. Most people can’t rewire for 240v and need a standard 120 / 20a swap out

Hi Steve, thank you for the pros and cons. Truly enjoy your videos Steve.
No review for the Viking 36" induction cooktop? As far as I am concerned, they are the best. Yes, very expensive, about $9000 CAD, but well worth it.
No comment ......

If I were to run one of these from a generator, how much power should generator have?
What do you think of the Viking 36” induction? It has physical knobs as well. Are the touch screen controls annoying?
We do not sell Viking...and haven't for quite some time
when are we going to get a 48-72" induction with a 24" griddle.

@@YaleAppliance1 my dream range would be a 72" wolf dual fuel, 24" griddle , 4 induction burners , 1 gas wok Burner , 1 gas oven, 1 electric oven.
In the market for one now. Very helpful, thank you! Hoping for some Memorial Day discount for the F & P but might be wishful thinking.

They are coming for your range in NY. Does t matter where you live or in what type of structure.
They? NY is a bit out there, but they are probably not coming for your range

They don't have a cooling fan
