How Lava Reacts To Crystals, Water, Ice, And Metal | Science Skills

- Adding relatively minor factors like crystals, water, ice, and metal can drastically affect how lava moves, cools, and creates formations. When lava meets water, for example, the results can be explosive. Understanding these interactions is vital for keeping communities who reside in hazardous zones - like the volcanic and oceanic Hawaii - safe from lava flows. Plus, it can tell us about how volcanoes might work on other planetary bodies. Here's how lava reacts to four different environmental factors.

Lava plus water equals obsidian
Fact
real and true
Water plus lava equals cobblestone
Minecraft logic XD
@@lahayestudiofrqc8708 That too.
Why does lava always looks so fun to touch and play with even jump into it
Yeah.. just like fluffy clouds..🤤.
It looks gooey. Don’t worry, though. Actual lava lets you know from a good distance away that you shouldn’t do that. It puts out a lot of heat, great for warming your bum on a cold night.
If it wasn’t so hot, it would be really fun to walk on (with shoes) because it’s so dense that we could float on top of it very easily. It still gets a hard, scratchy surface, though, so it wouldn’t be good to walk on barefoot, even if you were fireproof.
@@evilsharkey8954 ..just that feeling I was after..🤗..
Man! Like you think with evolution it would make it look less appealing to us like wtf
01:02 A gold star for the narrator who can pronounce that volcano's name.
agreed she most probably is a polyglot
The fact that volcanos are real absolutely blows my mind.
Love how they fell in water and becomes rock or something
My dad used to work at a smelting facility, and when the furnace began to fail, people ran away from the melting metal.
Buzzfeed unsolved just ended, I'm not ready to hear the song in other videos 😭
I stand back when I'm cooking and the oil starts splashing and dude is standing there poking lava with what's probably an oversized thermometer probe 😅
Lava looks so satisfying
i want to drink it
@@pastordonkoh7692 it tastes like rocks, would not recommend.
2:55 the forbidden honey
Nice introduction, currently doing research on the topic of lava dome formation. Would love to know the source about the connection between crystal formation temperature and time at the surface of the flow.
The E in Psyche is not silent...
You're correct - I thought that was weird too.
800 people to evacuate? That's smaller than my neighbourhood 😂
I can't be the only one that thinks it's beautiful
ah yes, the US favourite area unit - a football field
Congratulations on attempting and succeeding at pronouncing the 2010 Iceland Volcano.
"Area of multiple football fields"
Understood.
I wonder how lava move in space
It would form into spheres because of surface tension.
Lava + Water = Obsidian
i dint know lahar was also used in america. i thought the philippines has exclusives on it.
Very interesting😁.. My kind of topic👌🏼.. Thank You❣️

Maui has red sand beaches black sand beaches yellow sand beaches and white sand beaches. The most beatiful ive ever seen though was on the big island.. The olivene green sand beach is breathtaking
Lava looks like a good way to get rid of a body. Not that I need this...really, I don't.
SUS
Even though i love my jobs (ArchD BS structural engineer) & believe it or not a roofer ... I secretly wish i was a scientist developing and performing experiments. What a cool fun job
I've seen similar footage as the last one where the drone crashes into the volcano.
not the buzzfeed unsolved music
Buzzfeed unsolved music ... is that you?
Football Fields as a unit for measurement. Ahhh murica.
3:40, that's not obsidian. your AI giving image based on words got it wrong.
so who wants to be the first to survey Olympus mons in person

This was dumb, and not at all what I expected
How the narrator's voice drops into a growl on the last word in each sentence, is annoying.
