It's actually not that expensive to run our military. In fact the US technically spends less than some other countries. The US economy is just so large that the 3 percent used for military is massive. Saudi Arabia uses 6 percent of GDP for 40 billion dollars while the US used 3.7 for 801 billion. In fact the US will lower this percentage within the next 30 years in order to keep growth gradual of the budget.

It is docked across the bay from the Coronado Navel Base/Naval Air Station North Island which has berths for two or three (I don't recall which) Nimitz-class carriers. The Midway was commissioned in 1945 eight days after the end of WWII as a straight-deck carrier. She was decommissioned in 1992. An early angled flight deck was added in the mid-1950s with the final angled deck you see in the video added in a massive modernization program from 1966 to 1970. She participated in everything from the Korean War through Desert Storm.
It had an issue with one of its engines...the swedish didnt know what it was until they intercepted it and were contacted by the pilots and asked to escort them...when the swedish fighter jets showed up the russian fighters backed off from what I have seen in videos telling the story of the incident.
I had to laugh when they showed the animation of a jet taking off from a carrier at the 4:59 mark, with the number '63' on the flight deck. That number would belong to the USS Kittyhawk (CV 63), and she would not be a nuclear powered aircraft carrier, but powered by conventional means. A few other tidbits that I found from similar videos. I'm not 100% sure on accuracy but have seen the stats in multiple vids so I think it likely. 1) The US has as many super-carriers as the rest of the world combine. 2) The largest air force in the world is the US Air Force. The second largest air force in the world is the US Navy. 3) The US spends more on it's military every year than the next 8 largest military expenditures combined.
When talking about smart boms they are showing chaff and flares and conventional missiles not smart bombs. It is not smart bombs which are dropped and not fired as missiles. They are not showing real smart bombs which don't have trails of smoke or lit up like flares. It's misleading
The USS Gerald R. Ford Super Aircraft Carrier has been deployed and it is fully operational: It did come with a surprise, that is a high power laser. Which, allows the ship to attack & defend its self at the speed of light. The laser is capable of not being seen or a dose of color used to make it visible. The laser system can wipe out 100’s of missal in a matter of seconds. There are two Ford Class Carriers that have been under construction for sometime and two Nimitz Class Carriers that will be retired & deconstructed. By law the U.S. must always have 11 operational carriers. 🇺🇸
jfk: Let every nation know, whether it wishes us well or ill, that we shall pay any price, bear any burden, meet any hardship, support any friend, oppose any foe, to assure the survival and the success of liberty.
Another thing about potential uses of drones is that without having a squishy meat puppet the aircraft needs to protect it can maneuver much harder than an aircraft with a pilot. A human can take up to about 9 G or -2.5 G for short bursts before succumbing to blackout or redout respectively. We hit those limits back in WWII. Increasing maneuverability since then has been about how quickly we can get to those limits and having enough thrust to keep airspeed while doing them than actually maneuvering harder. Without these limits or the added weight of life support and ejector seats a machine is only limited by the laws of physics. It could eventually be a case of a human pilot trying to dogfight an aircraft that could literally turn twice as hard as they can. Add on the potential of AI systems to make immediate reactions and you are looking at a very bad day for a future opponent. I would be very surprised if these types of human vs. AI tests are not either being run today or in the near future.
For the most expensive and powerful military on the planet, they have a shocking record against smaller third world countries. It's just been one disaster after another since Korea.
Grenada, Libya, Iraq, defeated Afganistan while RUSSIA never did and was there for 20 years, Viet Nam is now run by Nike ,And in the last hundred years Russia has had 3 national flags, 4 if you count the WHITE ONE THEY FLEW IN WWl.
Unless I missed it they failed to mention that with such a massive Navy the US can block shipping lanes anywhere in the world. This would essentially starve the enemy out. By starving them out I mean that the country will not be able to resupply itself nor would it be able to export products. FYI the US military budget is typically 800-900 billion. I expect that to approach 1trillion in the near future due to current events.
Which is a 180 from what a lot of the navy was doing during the Cold War: protecting the shipping lanes that allowed globalization to happen. 11 carrier battle groups cannot be everywhere in the same way a hundred destroyers can.
We have 300 million people so per head... we prrotect ours. We are your ally . ♥ bc your people are free people. So. No worries. We d protect you for sure. In a way its yours too ♥ Swedish dude free cousins
Our ICBM's used to be more powerful. They now carry just a single warhead. In the past they carried three warheads, all of which were able to attack a different target. Treaty limitations made the multiple warheads illegal. Our Tomahawk cruise missile was designed to carry a nuclear warhead as well as a conventional warhead. It is now our policy that no nuclear warhead be mounted on a Tomahawk. The Harpoon missile was not designed to carry a nuclear warhead, but it is capable of carrying one. The U.S. government is also allowed, by law, to commandeer commercial airliners to quickly move troops anyplace in the world, if needed. We also have equipment pre-positioned in various places around the world for those troops to mate up with. The 6th reason to not mess with us is our soldiers, Marines, sailors, and airmen. They are all volunteers and are true professionals. They are tenacious, intelligent, and are taught not to just follow orders, but to think independently and adapt to changing conditions. They are trained to operate individually, if necessary.

7:35 American's military budget usually hovers somewhere between $750-$810 billion dollars annually, yet with that its only around 3.5% of America's total GDP.
Heck yeah the budget is insane last time i checked it was like 800 billion. Having all the technology The US has cost money to develop and test.
They arent going to say what tech. they are useing...
Hey Matthew, still watching bro.
Just imagine what the US military has that no one knows about it's scary
18 million combat vets, Hunters are largest armed group in the world. Even if you defeat the military you have deal with the 300 million firearms in civilian hands.
Never underestimate the ability of a trailer park to organize into a light infantry unit.
“In fiscal year 2023, the federal government has collected $2.05 trillion in revenue. The federal government collects revenue from a variety of sources, including individual income taxes, payroll taxes, corporate income taxes, and excise taxes.”
That is the federal government. The states also have their own tax income.

It's Mathew: that's insane!
The video: what more insane is... (continues on)
😅😅
We spend 3 percent give a take a little bit of our GDP on the whole military, which currently is 800 billion dollars a year and some change.
Mtars and the minuteman 3 can also be rerouted to a different target midair
You can check that channel, it has a lot of videos like this!
I recommend you to watch top 7 badass planes Us Has"
This is why the US protects everyone
And those statistics are from 7 years ago!
We spend over $800 million a year roughly 4.5% of our GDP for our military
A few other tidbits that I found from similar videos. I'm not 100% sure on accuracy but have seen the stats in multiple vids so I think it likely.
1) The US has as many super-carriers as the rest of the world combine.
2) The largest air force in the world is the US Air Force. The second largest air force in the world is the US Navy.
3) The US spends more on it's military every year than the next 8 largest military expenditures combined.
Nice vid. You got a new subscriber
GOOGLE THE SPRINT MISSILE SYSTEM and look at the date.
the US military aprooved budget for 2023 is $800 billion
The US Defense Budget for fy 2023 is $797 billion USD.
Don't F with us.. lol
The video doesn't even mention submarine launched ballistic missiles.
Idk. An marine from work told me we are screwed if we fight
Every yr we spend about 800 billion dollars on our military
11:08 Have gun, will travel.
"If you desire peace, prepare for war." - George Washington
Roughly 800 Billion $ is our budget for our military lol.
jfk: Let every nation know, whether it wishes us well or ill, that we shall pay any price, bear any burden, meet any hardship, support any friend, oppose any foe, to assure the survival and the success of liberty.
Grenada, Libya, Iraq, defeated Afganistan while RUSSIA never did and was there for 20 years, Viet Nam is now run by Nike ,And in the last hundred years Russia has had 3 national flags, 4 if you count the WHITE ONE THEY FLEW IN WWl.
the B2 spirit can cary tons of bombs if you want to know the history of the B2
The rocket being launched, that you called a "bad boy", was a Russian Soyuz. That has always bothered me about this video.
Under 4% of the US budget is sent to the military.
We have to be strong enough to keep pace around the world but her lately we have feld in doing this the leaders can't get it together
In a way its yours too
♥ Swedish dude free cousins
Am i the only one disappointed when the thumbnail didnt have the USMC and USCG?
the Gerald r ford was already finished and commissioned
As far as I know there are two ships of that class afloat right now.
“They are all volunteers and are true professionals.”
That is true, not just in describing the officers, but also the lowest private.
@@SonnyBubba I believe the word "all" says just that.
Hello Matthew, Did you know that Russia, in the 90's, spent a lot of their scarce money to develop the best artillery forces in the world, outranging any land artillery the U.S. had. After the Russians fielded their first samples, the U.S. decided to use the Russians artillery as a design target for something they intended to build longer and more accurate than anything the Russians had.
Too bad most of it rusted away to nothing usable.
AMERICA'S 2023 MILITARY BUDGET IS $838 BILLION.
