- I've been wanting one of these tents for quite awhile, finally snagged one. These thing are bombproof military gear, built for multiple and extreme environments.
I put this up in my backyard, forgive the mess, I haven't cleaned it up yet, had a small family get together a week ago, where various amounts of alcoholic beverages were consumed lol.

I really miss using them I had used mine on top of the cot they issued me so that It wasnt on the ground. this is a gen 1 eureka tent. now that Im out, I can create me a bugout back with the TCOP and Modular sleeping bag.
Good vid. Agree with you about durability of US mil surplus stuff. My problem is I can't hump the gear I used to. That's where that light weight gear comes in handy. Being the ripe old age of 64. Have a couple of friends that love those mil surplus packs that are rated for 80-100 pounds. Until they have to carry it. Now that's funny. Talk about sing'n the blues...
I love my TCOP. I researched the hell outta finding the right 4 season solo tent. I don't care that it weights a little more,the heavier material and waterproofing is worth it to me. The civilian tent that you are thinking about is called the Down Range Solo. I have used mine in the winter when it was -9C or 15.8F outside and it was +10C or 50F inside using a UCO mini candle.( leaving a small opening in the screen door for venting). Just picked up a similar one (Improved Combat Shelter in MARPAT) from Amazon. Condition was "used - like new" and it really is like new. Cost me $50.

lee larsen it’s actually lightly colored tan or sand colored, but the rain fly still has the blackout feature, it’s a great tent. Thanks my friend!
I'm going to upgrade from the ICS 2000 to the TCOP. I really think all I need to to do is change out the rainfly set.
Roberts Bushcraft the ICS is a great tent, but yes, I think you can use this rain fly with that one, and it gives you a little more room to keep stuff covered with two vestibules.

Hey if you like the tcop you will love the two man. 1 vestibule little diff assembly but I believe alittle taller and definitely wider. Then the addiction starts and a four man appears from ups of course wallet alittle lighter but like you say cant be the military gear. I also have a hammock in woodland camo, love it. enjoy it's beer thirty in ohio.

Good job on the review, I have the same tent and love mine...no inside pockets, but I made a gear loft and that works great.....also, it's a little heavy, but I'm sure it will last forever......

Thank you for the review. I have a Snugpak Ionosphere for summer camping, but it is almost entirely mesh and the tub isn't deep enough to keep sand from filling it when beach camping. I'm wondering just how miserable it would be in a Eureka TCOP on a 90 degree day on the beach?

It looks like a solid enough tent but having to pitch the inner tent first is not a great design feature in a wet climate.

Great review...could do with a follow up to see how it handles rain, iv just got a tcop and am gonna seam seal it just Incase, few vidz on CZcams has leaking tcops so bit unsure if they have been unlucky or it's a design fault, asking tcop owners out there if theirs has leaked, please comment below
Mine hasn’t leaked, but it’s never been in hard rain yet. But seam sealing it will be a wise thing to do.
its a quality tent and has a very low profile. a very low profile.
easy setup. rain does not bother it. when its all zipped up it almost airtight. Seriously. when it gets wet keep the windows open.
blackout feature is nice and it even dampens sound.
I have mixed feelings on the tent. liked mine a lot. but I don't carry it.
so I agree with this guy. I camped one week five times in one. I'm 5'7" too and my head was in the roof. tent leans on the heavy side so if you have a ten mile hike... it isn't as heavy as a canvas tent.
Military gear is the best that is a sweet tent

lee larsen I know eBay has them, and several military surplus has them. Just look up USGI Combat Tent, several things should pop up.

Thanks brother. I actually no longer have this tent, I traded it for some other gear a while back. But I do have the USMC combat tent, which is exactly the same thing, just a 2 man tent, instead of one. Both are excellent.

Sid Stevens military gear is high quality stuff, this same type of tent, made by the same company, but in bright yellow is twice as much in price, and made in China, these are made to military specifications, and made here in the US. Plus camo just looks good. I’m sure you have some military gear as well.
