I was a cocktail server at a 5 star hotel when I met Simon. I had no idea who he was at the time. He seen me say Good Morning to a woman as she walked passed and completely ignored me as if I were invisible. He asked me if that happened often, I told him yes. He then complimented me on my character and began to ask me about my life goals and give me advice on how to achieve those goals. This was one of the most impactful interactions with a guest that I’ve ever had. I quit that job a few months ago and am now living my dream

    • @the8u9
      @the8u9 Před 3 lety +5

I understand where you are coming from, but passion is a fleeting feeling. The real goal is to enjoy doing things you don't like. It's like routinely exercising every day and eating healthy. You don't like it, you don't want to do it, it's easier to lay in bed and eat a burrito, but you do the hard thing. Nothing worth having comes easy in life. Most people can't find "passion" so you must focus on making that thing that is going to be 50% of your life for the next 50% of your life, something you enjoy.
If you can't do that, if that is impossible, that's when you must make a decision.

    This was simply outstanding 🎉🎉🎉
He speaks so simple yet profound that you can't stop listening..
Real leadership is in people connect..driving passion..if you can ignite people's passion..you don't have to monitor them closely .
They will create miracle for sure but then it always takes time..if you want to show growth or short term success then People connect is not for you..
Real Success doesn't happen in short term..
You need to groom, nurture, handhold people and make them feel that they are the company .
They will always deliver beyond their own expectations..
    Really an eye opener video..
My hearty gratitude to him 🙏

As a former solder, I like Simon's concepts. When I left the infantry and began working in the civilian world, I have seen mostly horrible leadership in civilian workplaces. Too bad, it cost them employees. There have been about 3 out of 15 places I worked at that had decent leadership (Funny, the employees worked for just above minimum wage in those places doing very challenging work and there is no turn over because people stay for a long time). I now own my own company and lead my team with their personal interest, quality of life and loyalty in mind.

#Everyone has capacity to be leader but it's the individual who chooses whether he wants to be leader or not.
#Get the environment right, you get the behavior right, get the environment wrong, you get the wrong behaviour.
#Being vulnerable doesn't mean crying but the willingness to say I made mistake, I don't know or the willingness to express their feelings without caring about other's response.
#Leadership is like going to the gym or other relationship its accumulative, it takes time.

For your time and effort into produce the first public aid (we can buy your book too, because is scented, the aroma and the interaction with our mind is unique, personal, nobody else can scent the same parfum, not the same way ).
    Together is better.
I moved from highly stress life to a rural place in Nicaragua.
My first priority in life is to have sense, a Meaningful Life and the restriction was who did it to me? then changed to how to explain it? then what are the causes? then more human, still logical, but no my emotions, my reason...
What's of this is common to everybody?
    what's the common element?
Who controls the element, how, who they are?
    What can I do?
    Can I solve it?
Is the problem out of my scale?
I solved it and I get motivated to get a job, I am still entrepreneur, but crisis affects finances, and that's a real fact, information that indicates that I cannot finance the minimum or that I suffer a terrible low in my standard of living, or whatever that you set up as priority.
    and then?
I was searching for old music 1980's, Beastie Boys movie, etc. then a suggestion by youtube
I have completed three, this is the third video of you that I watch.
I compare the difference of the content and what's equal, a high precision product.
Thank you for your time and effort to do a high valuable material to do the first step in the right direction:
    Helping others.
