Its about the items in the archaeology task switching layers when someone's dies. If u search it up theres a clip of Wolfabelle doing it
so basically, if you do the sort (items) task, then put the big blue diamond in its slot, and touch nothing else, the purple gem will switch from being above leaf to below the leaf

In Polus, there are 3 vitals, first the one above admin where you can check if anyoneâs dead. The 2nd vitals, is the task where 5up said it (i dont know how to explain it, and the 3rd vitals, which is only for impostors, the kill meter

Day 52 of teaching his viewers, how 5up knows when his impostor partner kills:
The kill button will flash for a frame. It is very easy to see when in a vent as the number sticks until he leaves said vent. It is noticeable when cool-down is off and slightly less so when his own cool-down is ticking. It is possible that this flash has not been noticed by you, the viewer, on CZcams due to the fps of videos being 22 for the lower resolutions vs the game running on 60, showing this for a single or two frames at most. If you want to see this flash, change to at least 720p.

For those asking about what specimen vitals is...
There's a glitch/trick you can do in the store artifacts task (the box where you sort the jewels, skull, and leaf) in specimen. You put only the diamond in the box first, then wait. The purple jewel is overlapped OVER the leaf originally, but when a kill happens, they flip and the leaf comes to the front. So you know exactly when a kill happened, just like if you were watching the regular vitals in Polus. (By "accidentally" doing specimen vitals, I'm guessing 5up just meant he did it unintentionally.)
