That's too funny that you're pressure washing because today not only did I pressure my house and fence for five hot sweaty hours, but I also pressure washed my gas canister too 😂
If you have a box for storage of fuel it's maybe wise to have some kind of ventilation to the interior. This prevents a build up of fuel vumes and creating an explosive mixture. Also the box, being made of plastic, forms a hazard. Try to keep it outside of direct sunlight so the interior doesn't heat up too much (a good thing it's white by the way).
when I raised tadpoles for some kids I boiled romaine lettuce to an extremely tender consistency and they loved it. mimics the algae they would eat naturally. they consume the eggs sac for the first few days
I suspect the slugs are attracted to the ethanol in the fuel. Ethanol also increases the rate at which fuel goes goes bad - ethanol absorbs water or moisture from the atmosphere
The VeggieBoys on here who farm use a simular method to get crops like sweet corn to grow & they don't really have to water it unless if conditions get too dry. They use a biodegradable mulch liner. It acts like a lil sauna under ther which the plants seem to like
I have the same problem with slugs and other insects being attracted to gasoline someone said because the detergents and certain additives that gasoline is refined with is slightly sweet and attracts insects
The big concern with watering deeply and then covering with a tarp is heat waves. If you use a black plastic as your covering, then you run the risk of cooking the roots of anything you have growing there because the ground can't evaporate to cool off. In fact, watering an area deeply and covering with a tarp is an effective way of sterilizing the ground of certain soilborne pests down here in Texas. Another challenge is gas exchange. A good, non-compacted soil allows for oxygen exchange in the soil. A soil environment without adequate oxygen runs the risk of rot rather than natural composting. It will also negatively affect root health, as the roots of a plant rely on a well oxygenated environment to work effectively.
If you're concerned about losing water to evaporation, a deep layer of wood chip mulch, about 4 inches deep, will keep the ground cool in the sun and reduce evaporation. At higher depths, it becomes an effective weed barrier while also allowing for nearly unrestricted gas exchange. Finally, and this is just hearsay, but apparently beetles that prey on slugs like to live in wood chip mulch; it could also help with your slug problem. Just don't till it into the soil, as this could cause a depletion of nitrogen in the short term.
I use copper wire around my tomatoes plants to stop slugs snals like a hoop and one end in the ground about 4in ...Then some salt next to the wire going into the ground teaspoon that's it...done...
I just looked this up on google for a better source then my memory. "How long can gasoline sit in a container? In general, pure gas begins to degrade and lose its combustibility as a result of oxidation and evaporation in three to six months, if stored in a sealed and labeled metal or plastic container. Ethanol-gasoline blends have a shorter shelf life of two to three months."
Do you have any bats on your property? I would bet if you set up some bat boxes your mosquitoes issues would work out well. Bats are so much fun to watch as well.
There's too many natural spots for them. Nobody I know who lives in the country has them actually use the house. It's the same with the birds. In the city they'll be filled up. Yes, I have bats and I love it when they swarm around the security lights for mosquitoes
Well you just have all kinds of surprises don't you. Either way I love your videos Man. But I still think you should carry around a cordless grinder for where the excavators tear up the pipes. Anyway good job dude I love your channel ❣️
That takes things to a whole another level. I'm not allowed to use power tools as a volunteer. Removing trees from the middle of the road doesn't count
Every spring I put 1 bottles of $2 dish soap in the drainage ditch at my back door, once per month. Prevents skeetos from laying eggs and breeding, works like a hot dam, and still lots of toads 💪
@@post10Vlogs I buy 100 percent Gas for my motorcycle and my Mower. There is even a way to test it to be sure it is 100 percent gas. I tested my source 2 or 3 years ago, perhaps I should retest them to make sure they are still 100 percent.
2:35 "don't know why, they just like huffin' that stuff" LOL that was hilarious
Can’t wait for garden videos ☑️
I can’t wait to see the progress of your new gardening method. 😁
Culverts, gardens, and tadpoles!! Oh my!!
I love these types of vlogs from you, really relaxing and informative at the same time! ☺️🇬🇧👍🏻
Stale beer works really well for slugs. Several shallow trays with beer and the slugs are attracted and drown. Very effective. 😊
I'm jealous of all your ferns! They're my favorite plant, besides maple trees!
"Cast not a clout, till May's out", looking forward to watching the garden grow
Can't wait for the new garden!! Love your property ❤!!😊 Have a great week!!
Seems like your area is going to do okay with rain this spring
soaker hose works well under plastic mulch
You're a true Horsefighter!!!❤❤❤❤
How about a sacrificial garden encircling the real garden? Or a moat? I like the moat idea. Thanks, Post.
Thank you for updating us on your garden! We are all excited to see you plant again. I'm trying out watermelon and squash to see what happens.
Thanks Post! 👊🏻👍🏻 Appreciate you my friend 🙏🏻
you could use white agrofiber to cover yours plants so they wont be afraid of frost
Can’t wait til u r able to feed the tadpoles ☑️
thank you post 10 from England x

It's definitely not airtight. But these gas cans don't leak anything they have no vents
I love watches these videos, so relaxing 😌 in this crazy world.

I put it in the freezer overnight. Then, while it still frozen, shatter it above the pond
As it hits the surface of the water, it completely mushes
Very peaceful raining in the forest. A day to be cozy 🥰
Thanks for posting post and you have a nice day.

That's so lovely you get some Lily of the valley
You have such a beautiful property ❤ And again, I learn something from your. videos every time. This time it's that slugs huff gas. 🤣 Who knew?
Good video. I like seeing your garden.
You're always ahead of the game Post 10 👍
You could always put a trail of salt around your storage totes to keep slugs out. I mean it’s not like they don’t have PLENTY of land everywhere else.
Get rid of the Slugs: Put some cups in the Ground and fill the with Beer!!!! All Slugs are done. Try it!! It works well

You need to get some soaker hoses if you use the solid poly covering

Do you think I could lay old copper pipes down? Thanks
@post10Vlogs you can try.... I'm from Australia 🇦🇺

Copper sheets and copper pipe split and put on sawn edge or rims sides of containers repels slugs
Did you ever consider a greenhouse for an all year garden, or is it too cold? I'm not sure how that will play out

I seem to remember Post saying "future father in law" in a video, I assumed he was engaged too 😅

It's still standing if you're one of the ones who thought it would fall
@@post10Vlogs Didn't think it was going to fall, just curious! Hope some tenants move in
I would keep that gas refreshed at least every 3 months.. ethanol and gas does not keep as long as 100 percent gas.
Maybe the fuel I save. I should start getting ethanol free
