  • I had a great time fishing at Ogden Point, Breakwater in Victoria, BC. Thanks to the help from Trotac employees I managed to get on some fish. I highly recommend giving the breakwater a try if you're looking for a place to catch some fish. Remember to check the regulations for the month you're fishing!

When those rockfish drag you into those crevices give them some slack they'll swim out and you'll be good to land them.

Fun catching ling on light tackle for sure. When on the reef you really have to have beefier gear though otherwise the fish dive in holes like you second one and then they get stuck. Kelp greenling are pretty good eating. some places I've been you can catch one after another after another. It is insane. Good job on the ling. Early season when Lings spawn you can actually get some really big fish off shore.

Caught 8 lingcod. 4 on Sunday & 4 on Monday. All ranges from 30cm to 37cm. Catch and release and recorded them all. I wish I gotten a 65 inch legal size. Pretty exciting that I caught my first Lingcod. All caught off the rocks of Oakbay. I used to catch Greenling at my spot 5 years ago but I heard Lingcod prey on Greenling and Greenling usually hover and spawn around the rocks. I wonder if they were eaten ? Just to update you, that Swimbait you mentioned was the lure I used. I thought it was too big but the Lingcod swallowed it up. Your Lingcod was definitely bigger past year. Thanks for the tip cheers
