  • Hey guys! We look at the second of 3 German albums I have. This album has stamps from 1945 onward. Not a bad little collection to browse and enjoy casually while sipping on a hot cup of coffee.
Thanks for watching! Like and subscribe if you enjoy my videos!

Nice assortment of German post- war stamps, containing a BERLIN collection in chronological order. Stamps with readable "Berlin"- postmarks are worth more, because they also could be used in Western Germany. Frankfurt/ Main means near the Main river. 11:46 "Tag der amerikanischen Mondlandung" means "Day of the American moon landing". 12:55 is a First Day cancel. Cto.´s are always cancelled at Frankfurt or Berlin and have full original gum. And you also got some early West German issues with some better items. Greets from GER, U.

You have an excellent start for a Berlin specific collection, with some almost museum quality stamps in it. I collect the souvenier sheets only as album fillers because there are so many varieties of them and so many of each were printed. I specialize in collecting Germany as I was stationed there I 1964-1966. Up until about 1999 or so it was common practice for the German post office to print 30 million of each commemorative issued. The Berlin issues had a smaller print run and may be worth slightly more by scarcity.

      @@Grace-ov3je,
My family was stationed at Edwards Kaserne during the same time you were in Germany. My oldest brother started collecting stamps at the time and he received a few canceled Nazi stamps from a German lady who was married to an American soldier. We were kids at the time and those were early wonder years.

Nice Collection of german stamps. Mostly Berlin stamps from 1949 up to 1990. They can be recognized "Deutsche Bundespost Berlin" printed on them. in former years from 1949 to 1955 'Deutsche Post Berlin'
at 25:00 you have a stamp from an automat.
at 25:23; here begins the interesting part of this collection from the early years with the green and red overprints which must be proved if the overprints are original ones.
at 28:13 begin of the 'Bundespost' with good values from the early years

At the end there were the more expensive stamps. For the stamps with the black and red overprints Berlin there are so many fakes, the overprint and the cancellations. I think, the 1 Mark green with the red Berlin overprint has a fake cancellation, same for the yellow 25 Pfennig.. Berlin isn´t that popular like it was 20 years ago. My favourites are always the bells, I like them a lot. The best in this collection were the really nice cancellations on several stamps.

That's great! When I started I watched every informational video that I could find around the web. Exploring Stamps has lots of great videos to watch and learn from. For US stamps one of my favorite websites is stampsmarter.org/features/Home_Features.html --- They have lots of cool tools to use!
