- Hey Bimmer Bros! Sorry for the very delayed upload. We have been going through HUGE changes at SBB HQ and will be doing a big update vid on what we have been up to and what this means for the future of SBB. The E12 gets more love in the form of actually getting to run. We had fuel issues, timing issues, Ignition issues... Nice video! Had to also set my ignition timing when reassembling the top half of the engine (E28, 525i, M30B25). I did it geometry. Manual say ignition timing is 22 degrees before TDC, so using the geometry of the flywheel with TDC marks, I calculated the distance over the outside arc of the flywheel to achieve 22 degrees before TDC. Positioned the flywheel there and then set the spark plug 1 wire to the rotor position like you did. I didn't have the fuel issues so she fired right up. Had coolant leak and high idle issues. Fixed coolant leak (sourcing parts is tuff) and now chasing down vacuum leaks. Look forward to the next video... Good thing that tire was only flat on the bottom.
Roy you are definitely better at math than I am but that makes total sense! I am starting to realize that the l jet System is lost in time with no aftermarket support other than the cross platform stuff 😂 vacuum leaks seam to be unavoidable for this thing, i might be pulling out the smoke machine to see what hoses were missed and also figure out this overheating issue. Thinking might be the fan clutch or pump itself but we will see! Haha those pesky flat bottomed tires
