I like the 3d for some things like when the ageless turns around and when he gets hit by the flint lock sending him back Have you tried experimenting with using both animation styles? I think using the 3d for impactful or funny things could look nice and you could more work into just those parts instead of putting it into a full 3d thing, while also keeping that original charm of the 2d stuff by using it for the rest It's up to you but I think you should try it even just for fun
