This is the Maeklong Railway Market in Bangkok, famous for a functioning market, with a damn train that drives thought it 3 times a day. You would think they would just move it right? Wrong! The maeklong railway market never used have tourist stuff. It was originally a local fresh food market with some household goods. It also rarely had any foreign tourists back in 2008! It was really only ever saw railfans visit.
Us tourists ruin everything lol
@marcoroams I took a video from the rear drivers cab in 2008 and it looks cool how the market closed around the train as it passed by. But really it was a locals tourist spot not many overseas tourists knew of it or took the train back then. I used to live at Mahachai at the other end of the line to this market and would travel there to relax on weekends.
Been honest, how were my acting skills? I knew the train was coming the entire time but wanted to do such a common filmed vlog a little differently 😁

They’re black Thai Sesame seeds, used in dishes or other uses. Keep up the safe traveling and I agree about the seafood, I wouldn’t touch either unless has been fresh or refrigerated day before. That’s the only let down of visiting other countries.
The key to the seafood is go first thing in the morning that means 4 or 5 am! Its fresh off the boat at that time.

What do they do with the left over ? Same in the Philippines, I see so much of the same thing for sale, one vendor next

It’s not the guy drives the train thru, it’s people they refused to move when the gov built the train railway. They have been lived in the at area for generations, so both gov and people have to compromise
That railway was built in the early 20th century around 1912. Infact if you look at some of the railway track 1912 is stamped on the side. The market formed many decades later as Maeklong grew in size. It was never a tourist market but a local food market and was a locals market 15 years ago.

Hey bud. Please don't say Ka at the end of any sentence, for example cup khun ka. If you say Ka at the end of a sentence in Thailand it means you are a woman. Women end sentences with Ka to be polite or respectful. Men will say Krup or Krap at the end of a sentence. If a woman says Cup Khun Ka and you want to say thank you then you say Cup Khun Krap.
