KSU instrumentation kind of misleads their size. They only got 10 woodwinds all day, so they are loaded with enough brass to fill a band of at least 140 members. That being said, they have a perfect synergy of power arrangements to match their instrumentation.
I have to give them the W because of the energy they brought. I love their book. If I hadn't seen every TSU 5th and stand battle this season I would probably love their book too. But they ran the same playlist as the last 2 weeks plus one new song.

@@KBThaBandhead I must say this when it comes to tsu they are more of a concert style type marching band everything they play and sounds some what of you would hear from a concert band, power is not 💯% of what they do even though they have the capability to use it
@@BCCHSMD Hopefully KSU will meet up with the Ocean again at Mardi Gras , but truth be pound of pound, KSU can't out power The Ocean and now with the arrangements that the Ocean have its a wrap all around, still it would be an epic battle.

Tenn State is not a power band. If you judge them based on that then you will be disappointed. They like to flex with their arrangements and sound quality. KSU sounded good for their size. They have a SWAC sound and style.
That just shows you how much people know about these bands

Tsu has switched their sound over the years to sound more like a swac band so this they should be judged off power.
@@dandewaynejackson LOL, STOP IT! They sound the exact same. They only increased in numbers which added to their volume and fullness. TSU still has a very large woodwind section that has major parts in their song arrangements. SWAC bands don't have large woodwind sections and they generally don't arrange their music using woodwinds as major parts.

TSU you have to more than just a big band for a stand battle, it’s like they’re catered more a concert than a stand battle. KSU is battling and they bringing all the heat! If they were the same size as TSU they would blow them out the stadium!

I tried to tell people Kentucky State was gone be nice after they played Miles in 2018. Miles was twice the size of them and they did more than hold their own.. I said wait till they get some size to em. Plus in a small band every note has to be the right note so they definitely have some musicians out there. Lastly, I think they still a little to small to play some of those musical tunes, how you gonna have 3 trumpet parts and only have 3 trumpets lol I think that would make them sound like their size and that would probably be bad for business.. give them time to grow.

I must disagree with you on those black dots for the bass drums. I've played bass drum on multiple heads and the skins are by far the best sounding up close and at a distance.

It won't be interested. Su has power over tsu. Just as jsu has power over tsu. Tsu is a great band. But nothing they played here equated them taking a win which is the same book from jsu. Tsu had the acoustics of the stadium to hide the errors when it played jsu but those who attended the game knows the different.

I'm disappointed in Tenn. They need better arrangements. There sound is immaculate but they need energy.
