my daughter received a tbi as an approx 2 mo old ( she was also preemie) because of parental abuse. We adopted her.
She has always jas cognitive issues, but now at 28, I notice more anger and judgment problems. She refuses to see a counselor or take !medication. She is in an extremely stressful situation now for the last 3 years. She refuses, or can't open up about it..just lashes out at us,her mom and dad. I'm concerned she's depressed. She's quite impulsive and thinks everything is our fault..Any suggestions?

my tbi daughter is adopted because of birth parent abuse. She received a tbi and other injuries and about 2mos old ( and was a preemie).
We got her when she was 3 mos.
She has had cognitive issues as well as a myriad of health issues since then. But now at 28, after 3 years of a tremendously stressful situation, she is very angry, lying all the time, blaming us for everything, impulsive..generally very hard to live with.
I'm afraid she's depressed but she refuses to see someone.
    Do you have any suggestions?

i live with something similar. do your best to be understanding. the anger is frustration. accommodate for her, offer SSI SSDI, subsidized housing, counsel. it’s a horrible fate that no one understands unless they live through it.
