When he mentioned hearing country and western music being played in someone's home, I was reminded of the time I first heard "Born To Sing No Plan B". I was on holiday visiting an Italian hillside village (Sermoneta). Suddenly the music of Van Morrison was filling a small plaza. St first I thought the music was coming from a bar. But no. It was just a local resident playing the album at full volume with the window open. No one was complaining! Happy memories.
Van Morrison is brilliant. There are so many choices today with music , movies, TV that we miss great musicians like Van. Actually TV bores me so l prefer music and reading in my spare time. Van is one of my favorites.
Thank you A I enjoyed Part 2 even more because Van seemed more hunkered in and relaxed and the music clips, memories and earlier Belfast life! I am up way too late! lol
Ive always listened to Vans music because of the spiritual aspect, which many of his songs seemed as though he was a believer in Christ. After this interview I wonder if it’s his true belief or if it was just a phase, something he was experimenting with and not really his rock solid core belief. That is disappointing to me… I still love Hymns to the Silence album, my very favorite. And still will always love Vans music, but I feel a bit different after hearing this interview. I pray that 25 yrs later after this interview that Van has come to know the real true God. Without any doubts, unafraid of proclaiming our Lord and Savior. That when he enters heavens gates one day, he will hear “well done good and faithful servant”, not. “ I never knew you.”
We aren't in time, but eternity. It is a fascinating aspect of his personality that always seems determined to prevent anyone actually knowing anything for certain about him. But each one of his albums recounts of encounters with God and I'm certainly hoping to sing with him one day.

I love when he reads with music playing in the background. Really moving. Emotional. Serious. Touching.

Please keep in mind this interview is nearly 25 yrs old.

He's certainly a believer but he'd become an atheist at this point because of Michelle. He found his way back, though.
