Wow you have 1000 subscribers, congratulations!
Also, I can't believe you made it look that good even though its your first try.

Thank you, yes another milestone reached 😀
It was surprising how the sketch came together, in the early stages I wasn’t sure it looked right at all, but once the outer petals went in it suddenly made sense. It’s a good challenge to try drawing stuff you don’t usually, even if it turns out terribly it’s all good practice.
      Cheers, Donald.

Firstly, congratulations on the 1K subs, very well deserved🙏 This is a very different sketch for you and I really like the outcome. It can be said that if you can draw anything, you can draw everything and you are proving that to be true. Really interested to see some outdoor nature sketching in the future.
Botanical artists usually take a plant or whatever from its habitat and then set it up with directional lighting in a mini studio setup to study and draw the form and textures. I have some reall awe inspiring books on the art of botanical drawing/painting for beginners which only convinced me not to even try it 🤣🤣🤣🤣

Thanks! I was surprised by the outcome, certainly better than expected for a first go at drawing something not man-made. I have a bonus video coming out tomorrow (Sat 4pm) on a similar theme, with a bit of a meditation twist.
Yes botanical art seems almost like a science, it’s so precise and seems to be more of an intense study of a subject. For someone who likes to draw freely without having to overthink it, this sounds a nightmare 😅
      Cheers, Donald.

Well done for tackling such a difficult subject! It’s true, you can draw anything, it seems. This was great to watch, and I liked the way you approached the subject. Congratulations on 1.1K, well deserved!

Thanks, I think it’s maybe not as hard as it looks, when you break it down into individual petals it’s mostly just a connected bunch of squiggles. Worth a try! Cheers, Donald.
