I have to say, you give real meaning and morality to hard work. Im a private contractor doing demo on homes and cleaning and treating mold jobs. I love my work and most times do extra for the client. People think im crazy doing certain things out of the kindness of my heart. They dont understand that most of my new clients are people that my previous clients referred me to.
The hours can be insane sometimes, but I reassure myself that regardless of that, I still get to go home and i still recieve a fat check.

Thats what its all about. Starting your own business. Its a sacrifice but believe me, its worth it all the way through. I worked oil and gas for over 17 years, got tired of the political b.s. and got into my own ordeal doing environment cleanup. I love it and i make sure all my guys have a good time learning and getting the experience. I encourage them to seek their own destiny to make a difference in their life as I've done in mine. Keep it going brother.

Dude thanks for this video. I am thinking about starting a landscape business. I watched your videos because I was looking for techniques to use my 2620t echo weed eater better because I am cleaning up a neglected cemetery with really tall grass. Well, you have inspired me to look into starting a business next year ( season). I already have some good equipment as a result of purchasing equipment for the cemetery clean up. Now I will add to my arsenal and move forward.

For the last 18 months I've not let the lawn crew edge or use a weed eater in my back yard. czcams.com/users/postUgkx_rBCFuDW1zD6blTGhLkvAkxU657uR_lG I didn't like the fact that they just kept cutting the edge of the lawn further and further from the rock lining the flower beds and leaving bare ground. And the grass was trimmed or scalped several feet around trees, etc. It was a constant battle with them so I told them to just mow and no trimming. I have Zoysia grass so it grows pretty slow. Obviously after a while it could use some trimming. I'm in my 80's so I can't do much of it myself. Finally I decided that if I could find a lightweight battery powered trimmer I might be able to do some light trimming. I decided to buy the LST201 20V trimmer. And it works great for my needs. I have back yard with about 150' of flower beds and several trees to be trimmed. I can lightly trim the whole yard with a single charge! The grass I trimmed was only a few inches high but the trimmer was more powerful than I expected.

      Psalm 96:3
Declare his glory among the nations, his marvelous works among all the peoples!
A few years ago I was listening to a book on audable by coach burt. I had listened to it several time and each time I would hear him talk about the paravles of talents and he kept saying "whoever is faithful of a little will be faithful of much" this drove me to read the bible
The best thing I have done for myself is read the Bible. Once I started I couldn't stop I was very confused and almost stopped in Leviticus but I kept reading. I can not describe the heavy weight that was lifted off of me as I dove deeper and deeper I finished in 3 days listening on audible. Start to finished hooded with the words wisdom.
My grandparents are devout Christians so I called my grandfather asking him hours of questions. I turned to the bible project on youtube and Charles Stanley's in touch ministry. The feeling of the moment that I accepted the Holy spirit was amazing.
I have had my challenges and have had moment of backsliding. My faith has been tested many times and I have contended with moments of self doubt and feelings of being inadequate. Never lasting long when I turn to God. I felt a strong calling to speak up and share a few versus that have positively impacted me. I try to listen and see where it takes me. God has a beautiful end result for everything.
Since giving myself over I have found myself crying at times randomly for no reason with no negative emotion or action just pure release of happiness. my personal life and business have started falling right in line with my dreams and an over whelming calmness and since of peace have come over me.
Thank you Jeri James for leaving this comment I am glad that the lord used me as a vessel.

These kind of clean ups are fun. Nice to see the end result. Same here, I don't like making a living doing them. When the lawn is that tall, use the trimmer all the time unless you know the property. Running over a weight and chain would definitely cost you a lot more money then what you made for that job. Knowing the basics of maintenance is good. If I am not sure about something, CZcams and Google are the best tools to have. Great video Kevin!

My kid was an infant when I started mowing lawns and I used to count diapers for every stripe I made. One stripe one diaper, two stripes two diapers I would buy. At the end of day there was quite a few diapers worth of work done 😁 I never motivated myself with material things, more like this is my Job now, this is how I earn my bread. Excellent video, excellent advice to those who are struggling with being self employed...
The first OBJECTIVE to being in business is making a profit. There's nothing wrong or selfish about making a responsible profit.
This enables a business owner to effectively manage your first PRIORITY, of serving your customer as you, sir Kevin, seem to have mastered.
The passages supports honest work. As you shared, the inspired Proverb points out the value of profit as opposed to talking a good game.
Also, I enjoyed the discussion of taking care of your equipment...

If you have flat ground, it's almost plain sailing. Uneven ground poses problems and injuries. However, if you have a brush blade, use it. Maximum trimmer line length out of the spool should not be too long- 5 inches is good. You realise full potential of engine power. A long line will only tug at the grass and wear you and your clutch out.

Many of your tips for a business, apply to life in general. Everyone should attempt to be a bit out of their comfort zone. That is how one grows. Also, mistakes will be made along the way. However, they should be viewed as "learning opportunities".
Find the heaviest object you can pick up and cary it (rough paraphrase from JBP.)
    Keep it up!

Hey man! This video was great! I liked the scripture at the end as well! I work at a local park that has over 2 acres of grass land, and I have to weed eat and mow the lawn every day, and the weeds have been growing and spreading like wild fires due to all the rain we have had the past few weeks. It’s so hard to catch up with all the work! I’m 20 and this is my first year working here and weed eating with little training, and I always worry that my bosses are going to judge how the grass looks because I’m not the best with weed eaters, I’m mostly better with using a lawn mower or a small tractor.
