The Break A Leggers review the 2019 Grand Theatre Wolverhampton Panto Dick Whittington
This panto season join our hero Dick Whittington on the ultimate rags to riches adventure as we help our hero outwit Queen Rat and take his rightful place as Lord Mayor of London.
Ryan Thomas (Coronation Street, Neighbours) stars as Dick Whittington, alongside comedy legends Su Pollard and Jeffrey Holland (Hi-de-Hi!, Oh, Doctor Beeching! and You Rang, M’Lord?) in this year’s family panto.
DICK WHITTINGTON also sees the return of the Grand’s Dame, Ian Adams for a fourth consecutive year and welcomes comedian and celebrity impressionist Aaron James for his Wolverhampton panto debut.
Will it be Break A Leg? Or LEG IT!!

Great video guys and the little leggers are so funny. I have to agree with you that this was so disappointing and not due to the talent on stage because performances were good but it just seemed old and dated and all the kids around us were bored. Julie Paton was brilliant and was a highlight for me but I agree that the jokes and innuendo were very smutty at times and it all seemed to be done on a shoestring budget. I'm glad we saw this before Birmingham Hippodrome or it would have been more disappointing as the Hippodrome have excelled this year by producing a true spectacle

Completely agree with everything you said, as a family panto incredibly disappointing. so gutted that this is the panto I chose for the kids this year. "Dick" was awful should never have been cast. I had to go and see White Christmas in London yesterday to recover, which was simply stunning :)

I agree. The panto was very poor this year - to be honest I can’t remember it which shows it wasn’t memorable - I didn’t laugh, it felt rushed, and forced, and we left disappointed too.

Well done Leggers and Little Leggers, this is another really detailed and insightful review. OK, so it wasn't five stars, but the point is that people working in the regions have as much right to have their work publicised and criticised as people working in London. If things weren't perfect this year, they can always be improved next year. The important thing is that we all continue to support our local theatres so that they will survive and flourish. And what better time than panto time!

Going to see this today! Hope it is going to be good and worth the money as for 8 years I have gone with my grandparents and siblings and hope I’m not disappointed.

Every year it is my intention to see at least one panto and I never do, just not my thing. However, I think getting to see Su as Peggy has made this a must. Thanks for the heads up guys.

A very disappointing Panto. It felt rushed. It was boring. It wasn’t funny. So sad.
