I wonder how much time/experience Bill Wise has on the Ring. The lap is impressive for a ~$72k Camaro on it's own, but to have been done by an American engineer/racer instead of a German pro just adds weight to the accomplishment.

I’m a professional musician/guitarist and have been since 1964 and I agree...loose the music. I also own a ZL1 Camaro and really dig the car and watch all and any videos on it.

Robert Ascher Hey man my Z06 is stick, so is my Firebird, but the Z28 is automatic.
actually its faster in a straight line but in motortrend's review Randy Pobst actually went faster around the track with the stick so there's a reason it's only offered stick, with the right driver it's faster.

To all you stick shift junkies out there, explain why all and I mean all cars with paddles are faster than their stick shift counterparts? There's a reason the fastest cars in the world (F1) use DSG boxes.

victor van dyke Because they're still living in 1990 where automatic transmissions only had 4 gears and had to get a 5 or 6 speed manual to be faster. Today automatic sports cars have 6 to 10 speed automatic transmissions while offering only up to 6 speed manuals. Gotta give their brain time to adjust I guess.

I don't care about who makes the faster car as that is HIGHLY in favor who has more money to drop. Why don't you go ask why more and more teams are dropping out of the lower tier ranks of racing... I watch racing to see hands down who is the BEST driver. No one here is stuck in the 1990s... Anyone who is probably rocking 3 pedals just take PRIDE in the damn sport and no amount of time is going to change that.

the 4 door SS is surprisingly good , the old colbalt SS held the FWD nurbergring record for many years, The Cadillac ATS-V has some of the fastest turn in around and considered to have better handling then the BMW M3, The caddy CTS-v has 650hp, basically every GM car is fast
