I used webcams for my modeling video's on youtube. But the resolution was crap, do I went back to using (old) phones. The screen on the phones are cracked, but the cameras work and I can operate those. They are permanently connected to the PC, so they have power and I can transfer files to the PC for editing.
Can highly recommend the Logitech Brio 500 for all uses. Has a look down mode and very wide angle that can show an entire bench. That same setup can then autofocus on a miniature figure at full frame when brought close to cam without any need for a macro. Will be picking up a second - it's that good for the price.
Great video and the camera looks great and seems to a good quality one, however it's just too expensive for me. I'm considering dipping my toe into making modelling videos but as I might not enjoy it, I don't want to blow that much on a camera.
So it occurs to me that this might also be useful for detail painting or assembling where you place the work in the focus range of the camera, but you are looking at the monitor while you perform the work you need to do, be it painting a fine detail or shaving off some sliver of material with a hobby knife. Have you tried using it in this way?
That macro lens is awesome!
What do you think of the ideaCam S1 Pro? Have you seen me using it, and do you plan on getting one yourself? Let me know in the comments below!

If you're just starting out, then a camera phone is absolutely fine - this camera is really something that is for a much more dedicated group I think

I haven't - it'd take some getting used to, but I am sure it's absolutely possible - think about surgeons with keyhole surgery, for example...
So, is it only for live feeds, or can it be used to record video for later editing?
Great question - it can of course be used for recording and editing as any other video or camera feed on your PC, not just live streams.
