No one ever incorrectly answered the million pound question in the UK (made it their final answer, that is) The Llewelyn-Bowen couple did miss a million pound question originally but it was ruled an ambiguous and unfair question so they were allowed back for a new million pound question (this time they took the £500k and didn’t lock in an answer)
What a way to end the Millionaire series finale: gambling but losing $475,000 by going for but missing the $1,000,000 question and plummeting to $25,000.
Pretty sure this was the only time (at least on the American show) that someone went for the million dollar question and got it wrong. Had he gotten it right, he would’ve been the first million dollar winner on the show in over 6 years.
There was one other time in the US years later, Josina Reeves, but she only lost 75k because it was the shuffle format and she skipped over questions so she only had 100k, 25k was the safety net and she lost going for the 1m question.
I think losing the $475k was like a blessing in disguise for Ken and I'm glad he lost, not because I don't like him, but because he needed to learn a lesson in humility. If he had won the $1 million, he would've carried that cocky arrogant attitude into his career and then fall apart tremendously down the road. Whereas here, he lost $475k, but he learned a valuable lesson in humility while he's still young, and that is why he is now the successful lawyer that he is today.
This is pretty horrible… especially for how young he was here. That kind of money down the drain. Wonder what he’s up to today and if somebody can interview him about what he was really thinking here.
I'm sure he was humbled by this after coming off rather cocky and arrogant (smart guy though) and is far more mature than he was here. He must be doing well, especially considering he's a lawyer
@joeyblogsy from what I heard he's doing well so that's why I see he's smart, money wise and career wise. Trust me, I didn't like Ken during his time on the show because he acted like an arrogant snob but I respect how he's in a better spot now

As a consumer I wanna see a million dollar winner after 2003, and I mean answering all 15 questions correctly like they did in 1999-2003 (that tournament of ten BS doesn’t count as far as I’m concerned, that might as well have been scripted). I know David Chang won a few years back on the celebrity edition but people in the US stopped caring about the show by then.

He’s.. actually doing rather well for himself. His confidence didn’t pay off here, but his smarts certainly did later down the road.
