I remember when i got kicked out of an American Eagle with a CAMCORDER back in the late 90s when I was trying to do something for a school project. But back then...recording anything was unheard of. LOL. Your video was free advertising for Old Navy. So I'm sure someone will be reaching out to you!
I worked at old navy. Never would have thought to say anything about anyone filming. Some stores have their own loss prevention people, in certain locations. They arent allowed to say anything either.
I went last weekend and found baby clothes for 1.49 and up and kids clothes for .49cents ! Deff worth checking if you have kiddos. Sorry to hear about your experience at that store, like you said it’s not the corporation is just that one person that often thinks it’s above others but the salary don’t match the power trip 😅lol
I don't know about Old Navy, but at our Walmart the policy was recording was not allowed. If you were seen recording you were told to stop or leave. They said it was for the protection of the customers. It's also probley because someone wanted to be a creep. So it ruins it for anyone who wants to just show deals.
It IS actually for the protection of the customers. What if a crazy ex saw their old spouse in a video made in a store and they decided to stalk or hurt the ex? What if there was a person in witness protection shopping and they were caught on video? It could result in their murder cuz do y’all even THINK the bad guys just “let it go” ? No. They hire people to make it their mission to find those who snitched and landed some of their people in jail. And then there are minor children who might end up on a video. Someone might see them and recognize them. There are too many pesos and traffickers on the prowl nowadays. I know it’s RARE that any of that would happen but maybe people don’t wanna be caught in the background of someone’s video. Filming the items, where the camera is only focused on the rack or the shelf and isn’t gonna capture a person in the background should be ok but I don’t wanna be the one who films someone in the background and they wind up getting hurt because of my video. I know a woman who STILL gets harassed at DG stores, and was physically attacked by an employee just for doing what you are doing. Some of the managers and employees don’t want their stores filmed (probably because they are doing shady stuff!) She has been back and forth with corporate and it still continues. It’s like they “put the word out” to other managers. (Or their people are watching her channel). I don’t follow her and I rarely watch her videos anymore because I don’t wanna hear cussing while I’m looking for deals. That’s totally unprofessional. But what she goes through (and either videos it or she has the phone recorded but it’s facing the floor) we have all seen and heard it and she doesn’t even get loud or rude with them before or after it happens. It’s just crazy.

In the end, when people find out how it really is, that person will look disgusting. I honestly think that's why they started kicking people out of our store. Now we didn't have people just showing deals. We had the pranksters in our store. That was awful. Come up and hit people to get reactions. Knock the old employees over or about giving them a heart attack, scaring people with a clown mask. 😕 Our store was awful. Man, years after I quit working there... I was using the app to scan, when it came out. I actually had Lost prevention come up to me and follow me around the store. Hiding behind asiles. Seriously, peaking at me. Now I tell you I was highly annoyed. I was scanning all the barcodes on the app. They had the audacity to ask me why I was taking pictures of the codes.🤔🤔🤔🙄I'm using the Walmart app. Since yall took out all the scanners!!! Then one of them said they didnt like that app it was wrong. You know that app hasnt worked right in about 2 years now. When you go to the front, prices still dont match. They look at you all smirks. 🙄 I used to love the app when it first came out. We haven't had scanners in our Walmart for about 7 years. I think they took them out because if people didn't like the price, they would leave the item there. Sorry kinda got off topic. 😅 That store still bugs me to this day and still has the same problems. 🤣🤪Anyway, anyone who read this have a great day.

I never go in there randomly and hope they're having a sale I deliberately wait for you to tell us they are Walmart does have a policy that says that you cannot record inside of their store so you probably shouldn't if you don't want to get kicked out of the store but it's not illegal Old Navy however does not have policy on that.
