Totally agree with you! I have had mine since January of this year 2023..want to also say that the company has outstanding customer service!
Isn’t it funny how a simple chicken door can bring so much happiness. Lol. Take care.
It’s a great little addition for sure!
This is really great, going to look into it, thank you for sharing it's appreciated!!
U need to add a few more hinges to your door lol. Good video. Thank you!
😂
Really Good Review! I just did a review of mine. My review is not as well done as yours, but I'm learning. I just had some excellent customer service in regards to my light sensor, which stopped working. It must have got wet after a big storm we had, and in the process of figuring it out with the company, it started working. It is recommended to put a little roof or protection over the unit to keep it as dry as you can. Thanks!
Thanks for this video- I have been considering these for a while.
Have been following you on Rumble. No sure how I missed this video.
Great video.
Nice vid JJ....Glad ur getting back to basics and the mechanics of what's important.!
Oh don’t worry more politics is on it’s way. Lol.
Mines going to be here Friday. I live in Monrovia Indiana. I love my chickens. I only got 5 but I’ll get some more a few years down the road.
I just bought one tonite... the exact same one... thanks for the video
Fantastic !
I have the Happy Chicken automatic door. It is also plug and play, can be programmed on timer or light sensor, has an aluminum door. Was super happy with it for 6 months but now it doesn't open anymore. It is $170, so I think I would rather pay the extra $20 and get this one.
I had to pause the video as soon as you mentioned Rummel to head over there to find you
that is a well designed door, but....DAMN SON. you got enough hinges on that door?
Lol.
Haha glad somebody noticed that too. Either he bought a five pack by accident or he is expecting trouble 😆
Btw, door still holding up ok?
Still doing great!
Can we get an update on the hinges?
Definitely looks useful. Is it strong enough to hurt the chickens if they get caught under it somehow?
Prolly. Lol
Thanks for the video! Have you had any issues with door closing on the chickens ? I know it has a safety but was wondering how well it worked.
Nope. Haven’t caught any chickens at all yet.
@@RealitySurvival How would this be in winter. Ice, cold and snow. Thank You
I like the chicken feeder you have installed on the side of the coop. Can you tell me what brand it is? And if you are happy with it of course :)
You bet! It is great. Here is a link to it on Amazon. amzn.to/3u4L0c1
How do you like it a year later? How about the holes in the middle, do they allow air to blow thru or cause a draft?
Love it. Just installed a second one on my new coop.
Does the holes lwr too much cold air in?
Nope
Do you still like it in the winter? And are your batteries lasting?
We planning a vacation and want to install an automatic door.
Funny you should ask. It has been good so far. But we haven’t gotten too much snow or ice. Last night we got some freezing rain and snow and it is currently stuck in the up position. But except for this instance it has worked quite well.
We are in Ohio getting the crappy weather too. Thanks for the info, I’m going to get one!
do you have any updates after the last few months?
It has been working great! On two occasions in the AM when it was really rainy and cloudy and cold it didn’t open up on schedule. But I think it was because it just didn’t get enough ambient light. But overall super happy.
So when your outside lights go off by the motion detector does it open?
Fox inside the fence, light goes on, door opens and delivers fresh chicken to the fox.
Asking for a friend
The light has to be very close in spectrum to natural light. Possible but not likely. It also runs on gps location downloaded to it from the cell phone app to determine sunrise and sunset. Not that it has a gps receiver, it's just synced by the phone. But it works flawlessly. No chance of foxy getting a free chicken dinner.
You didn’t add the link. ? I want to buy one fella !
Just search it on Amazon.
So it’s just to keep 🐥 safe ?
Dude i am from I.n. Montpelier so cool
Does this have a safety feature so it does not close on and kill a chicken that might be sitting in the doorway?
I believe it does. We haven’t had any get caught in it. But it moves so slow it would be about impossible even if it didn’t.
Is this still working okay for you? I will appreciate your input, looks like is been about a year since you bought it?.. thanks
It was when I sold the place last month :)
Is it strong enough to keep out coyotes
Yep
Good! So your chickens will be okay ... when you're dragged off to a Covid camp!!!!
(Sorry. I just had to. 🤣)
Is there No way to power it using and outside power source?
Just AA batteries as far as I know.
@@RealitySurvival thanks! I can always rewire that input to stay on a sustainable power source. Fair enough
Yep if you are handy I am sure it could be done. But the batteries will last 6 months to a year.
@@RealitySurvival I’m handy, simple re-wire to give the same 3V supply using my solar setup with the batteries as a backup. Super redundant, but anything beats going every morning outside in my boxers and flip flops. Lmao. Sorry for that image.
😂 I hear yeah. Auto doors are a must for me. Soooo much easier.
All that upgrades makes for expensive eggs 🥚
Totally worth it. Just not having to open and close the coop is sooo worth it.
@@RealitySurvival I agree...totally worth it...it's an investment..."One les bell to answer, One less egg to fry, One less
Chicken to look out after"..etc etc etc....pay now or pay later...!
Hi, it is still working?
Yep sure is.
It's still working???
Yep. The only issue is if you get freezing rain abs the rain freezes and keep it from opening or closing. Just make sure to build a small awning over the top of it and it will be great.
@@RealitySurvival thank u
What's the name and internet address??????????????????????????
You have a automatic chicken coop? What do you need that for? You only need a hand loaded door, pin and welded,
You also would have to get up abs let them out everyday and close them up every night. That is two less things I don’t have to remember. I’m old as hell.
@@RealitySurvival (I wasn't talking about a chicken coop door :P, it was a very dry 2A reference) :P
Lol.
joke of a price considering what it is. a light sensor and a motor. who do they think they are charging that price at all
I disagree. It is worth every penny. Works extremely well. If you think it is so simple build a better one and sell it for less.
@@RealitySurvival you definitely work for them or get paid by them. I'll get the clone from China £20 thanks
Nope. Neither. I’d love for you to send me the link to a clone that is as good. I will be waiting.
@@RealitySurvival no. Bell end.
Yep because you can’t find one at a better price. Lol.
