Finally, a comprehensive video on nixtamalization. I've watched about a dozen on the subject, but this just made sense. I appreciate that you thoroughly show the steps instead of just describing and skipping over it. This is also the first one I found showing the process with Hopi Blue corn. Will be trying this with my first successful crop of Hopi Blue corn I grew this year.

Hope it works out well for you and that you enjoy your homegrown tortillas.

great video. You did a good job explaining how to complete the process. I had no idea that I needed to do this with the blue dent corn that I purchased.

Thanks, you can also use dry corn for cornmeal without treating it but it is much harder to grind by hand, would definitely recommend a food processor

Thank you, happy to find a video featuring blue corn. I grew a large amount last year. Used my green star juicer to homogenize into the masa. Have you tried making chips?

Awesome, yeah when I was doing my 1 month homegrown food challenge I ate a lot of tortilla chips and avocado dip 🤤

The corn is grinded better when they've dry.

That's not how it's done That's why you end up with a flat stone. 😅
