    this is such a helpful resource, i really appreciate you taking the time and effort to record and share this with all of us. i'm someone who feels very overwhelmed by all of the math involved in standard pattern drafting, so when i saw the draping method for the first time, i fell in love! i know there's still math involved but it feels easier for me to manage, not to mention draping reminds me of sculpting but with textiles and i'm a very hands on learner so i can't wait to teach myself using your video!

    This is pretty neat to say the least. I think draping is an excellent method for reverse engineering pattern making to understand the whole concept. I was extremely poorly during my fashion design polytech course and had to abandon near the end until I recovered from illness but I've picked up and with an array of books, tutorials here and especially self tuition I've managed to get on top of everything but there's always new things to learn and the guidance available here on the Tube is just amazing so much gratitude to you Brit and everyone who offers tutorials freely. I wondered where you get that thin tape from ? And one regret I have is purchasing a large Size 16 mannequin that was actually really expensive at nearly NZ $600 in the early 2000s and it's awfully cumbersome with flimsy stand that's easily knocked over. I wish I'd gotten a smaller one and I bought all my design tools from back home in the UK from the Staples Group South East UK, but anyways, happy Saturday from Middle Earth and all gratitude for the tutorial, loved and subbed 🙏💞💥✌️

    So if you wanted to make something with stretch/knit fabric would you just do this same method but size down?

    • @LAMODÉLISTE
      @LAMODÉLISTE  Před rokem

      I don’t really use stretch fabric for bustier. That’s that’s really hard. Medium stretch I guess you can use this method but a 2 way stretch like Jersey or knit, I’m not really certain it will show good results. For that, I use a specific pattern

    How do I make sure the bodice will fit me if I have a larger bust then my dress form?

    • @LAMODÉLISTE
      @LAMODÉLISTE  Před 2 lety

      use your own body measurements. never ever depend on a dress form especially if it isn't the body size as yours

    • @GhostCharacter
      @GhostCharacter Před 2 lety

      You can pad out the dress form until it matches your measurements!
