    • Why won't this Echo ch...
    After diagnosing that we had spark and some compression it turned out to be the carburetor of course. In this situation we order a new carb kit from ebay or only $5 shipped in the US. The install is pretty simple other than getting to it like most chainsaws. Thanks for watching and if you would please check out my other videos.

    As others said, straight , to the point and detailed. I've had trouble starting this saw off and on for over a year. Bought a carb online for less than $20 and in less than 45 minutes, with the help of this video, had my saw running again. Thank you

    Hi. I am write from Puerto Rico. I have seen many videos here. But this is one of the must helful. This Echo CS400 is similar to CS370. I have to say that Echo chainsaw is not that I expected. I consider a bad product. The oil bar chain pump is a mess. Also now the carburator. I personally like to mantaining my tools and equipments clean and running but Echo 1. Required to much mantainace. 2. Troubleshooting to start a lot. 3. The guaranty is relative good but the dealers are to slow in the repairs and also looking always to sale parts that are not included in the guaranty. Versus the trimmes which the experience is totally diferent. Thanks for this video. Amaizing.

      No unfortunaly. But I usually check videos from other trades. But in my case I bought the Echo previuos the 2 huracanes that hit the island of Puerto Rico. There were trees all over the place and the natural devastation were heavy. So I start using the Echo 14'' and had problems. I change it for a 16'' and had problems with the bar oil pump. And then I but the 18'' and had problems with the bar oil pump as well. I keep the 18'' after the waranty change of the pump. I dont used too much, but know didn't starts. But after your tutorial I cleaned up an start. But any how needs a carburator kit. So I am planing to buy another trade. Thanks againg.

    Lucky me, I let my CS-370 sit in the garage for over a year and it started right up and ran like I used it in the last 7 days. Speaks to Echo quality engineering.
    I need a couple larger saws, so I'm going to get those from ECHO, also.

    Note that if you are doing this on the kitchen table, there is a small amount of gas in the carb, just have a rag to catch it. I was disappointed that the alignment holes on the metering diaphragm gasket and the metering diaphragm on the OEM kit did not line up and I had to take surgical scissors and cut the tiny holes to fit. Thank you for posting this vid. I wouldn't have tried it on my own, just looking at diagrams in the schematic - too green, too much of a wuss.

    I don’t know much about Echo chainsaws, but I bet they’re just as a good as a Husqvarna or Stihl. However I have my Craftsman saw that I got for 150 dollars with a 14 inch blade, and it seems to be the perfect saw for me.

    Great video but never use carburetor cleaner or starting fluid to start a 2cycle engine it is better to use wd 40 or 2 cycle mix directly in the carb to avoid further damage to the cylinder

    • @HomeGaragechannel
      @HomeGaragechannel  Před 4 lety +2

      Not at all. Pour out the chain oil from the tank as much as you can. Then put some mixed fuel in the tank. Press the primer bulb until you see fuel fill up the bulb and you should be good to try and start it.

    • @HomeGaragechannel
      @HomeGaragechannel  Před 6 lety +1

      Carl McMillen thank you for the question. If you're more hands on then do research first to familiarize yourself via the internet and CZcams. Then find a piece of equipment you don't mind breaking and start exploring how it works. This is basically how I started but with cars.

    • @Rick_Sanchez_C137_
      @Rick_Sanchez_C137_ Před 6 lety

      Buy busted chainsaws, lawnmowers, etc. and tear them down using the manuals and CZcams videos and repair them.....the book and videos will get you most the way there on it, a little common sense, an/or natural ability should finish it off with most repairs. Most companies have an 800 number to consult with. Sell repaired equipment to pay for busted equipment and parts to start over.... or you can go the other way and take classes....
