First of all, thank you so much for playing! :)
I knew Isshin would end up having a lot of hyper armor especially in the spear phases, so I wanted him to have a lot of opportunities for the player to fit attacks in during Isshin's combos, but you've really impressed me with all the opportunities you've taken advantage of (some I didn't even know about!) and the usage of jumping to the side and shadowfall is very fun to see!
Also, I love the edited in voice line at 2:15 I'll figure out how to trigger them in game one day, hopefully!
P.S the attack at 3:18 and the fire ichimonji that he can do in phase 1 or Isshin at the shura ending, only deal burn buildup and normal damage so they can be deflected with the sword
Oh I didn't know about those fire attacks. Anyway, thanks for the great mod! I've been waiting a long time for Ult Isshin to be officially updated and this is definitely the best Isshin I've ever played 👍👍 keep up the good work !

But the will and skill of the player is greater than even that

vanilla isshin could solo an army.
Especially the fact that he is immortal and has both of the only weapons that could kill him if he beats Sekiro

I'm still amazed by how intense Sekiro's gameply is. It calls for constant concentration and it's so responsive/reactive. One mistake and you're done, it's honestly one of the best, if not, the best combat system I've got to play. And this man makes it look easy lol.
The combat system is pretty simple and straight forward though. What makes it impressive is how well designed the bosses are

Well if you really think about it, you as the player and as Sekiro become the most powerful swordsman in the Sekiroverse by dethroning the old master. And he's proud of you for it. Unlike other From games where we fight the weakened husks of old powerful beings, Isshin is primed and ready. He lives up to the hype from seeing him flawlessing groups of purple ninjas off screen like its a hobby. Isshin was the only one left who could stand a chance against Sekiro and the Ministry. Once Isshin accepts defeat, there really is no one left to challenge you.
I so wanted him to block the final deathblow and go into a 4th phase.
Or have it be in Sekiro 2. That would be a "oh fuck" moment to surpass even Guardian Ape surviving for a second phase. Image you are fighting a guy and you do the final animation deathblow where time slows and EVERY other time in both games where you have done it, the enemy has died, only for them to parry it, push you away and start another phase!
That “Well done… Sekiro…” probably felt absolutely _divine_
I feel like this is how the final battle between Sekiro and Isshin would have been really like... the intensity, the almost dancelike flurry of attacks...
The unmodded duel in the game is a withered down version so that mere mortals would be able to finish it. Great job Ongbal and of course, to the modder as well. I think I've already watched this like 10 times now. I'm still impressed every single time.

10 months later, I just can't stop coming back to this masterpiece. The whole fight is incredible but that moment at 3:20 especially never fails to give me chills.
This version of Isshin could definitely wipe the floor with Malenia.

This guy goes every morning to hunt an ishhin to feed his family, and even while the ishhins are evolving, he is so fast he can eat his breakfast at 7:30 AM every day.
Now THIS is Isshin, a killing machine pulling combo after combo with zero to little exertion. That intro ashina cross and the added downward slam already gave me chills. He literally uses EVERYTHING, lightning, black mortal blade slashes, fire attacks, one mind, wind shockwaves, hell I think I even saw him try to do the judo flip move on Ongbal. What’s more, Isshin’s doing these moves one after another without any delay like flowing combos and at ridiculous speeds
Like 2:34 onwards is straight up peak anime with both Isshin and Sekiro are going at it with 0 hesitation and at extreme speeds and adrenaline
And a gun

This shows how much harder the devs could have made it and how fine this game's mechanics are but above all how much time ongbal spends mastering it. Just amazing!!!

I will always love how this battle is fought. Especially how 2:19 and 3:17 feels soo DRAMATIC and hype. The thunder clap with the slow walk in 2:19 and ring of fire in 3:17 is mental. Love your videos man.

Something I love about this particular variation of Isshin is that he's insanely aggressive, but there's no bullshit multi-hits to worry about.
His One Mind attack is now 3 strings of two back-to-back slashes instead of an unreadable flurry you need to umbrella for. His gun only fires two shots instead of 6 when he charges you. His big explosion attack has a very clear telegraph, and you can parry the second hit without needing to dodge or go into the recovery animation.
I think the mod author did a very good job at making Isshin feel like a true God of War, where "hesitation is defeat" is reflected in his own combat style and hyper-aggressiveness compared to the original, while also not making him bullshit like some of the other mods.

@@zacmcculloch721 The one where he sheathes his sword in front of him and attacks with a flurry of projected slashes, before finishing with a final strike. It's called One Mind, you can look it up.

@@zacmcculloch721 there's plenty of ways to deal with Isshin Ashina's One Mind (in base game), but in order to actually deflect it, you need the umbrella, because you get one forced block.
I beat og ishin a lot, what I remember was that every one of his moves had at least one direct counter, not always parrying. For instance his big overhead swing could be countered by walking to the side. He would only ever use stuff like the pistol when the player tried to disengage.
I think this is what made him my favorite boss, you couldn't do the same thing over and over, but he would punish you for hesitating in you abilities and trying to back off. Once you learned him it was an amazing dance of staying close and knowing exactly which moves and counters could be used against what he was about to do.
This is the most epic insane battle I have ever seen in my entire life

Isshin in this mod is absolutely insane! He did a 19-hit combo on his second phase without taking a break at all, any of those hit you and you're dead
Cinematic works of art like this are only possible because of the creator of the mod and the person playing. I've seen this boss beaten by many, but it's the unique combination of the two that make it so great.
I love how this mod actually leaves Isshin with openings instead of making it "Deflection Simulator: The Game" and making his posture bar stupidly high. It makes it feel much more like a real fight, and Isshin's moves look cool as hell.

This is easily the most intense mod I've ever seen made for the game. Good on the creator and ongbal for doing so well on their ends of the spectrum. The well designed combat with the planned attacks for certain times and quick reading it amazing to see!

Definitely my favorite Isshin fight to watch so far especially his phase 1 and the transition to phase 3. Feels like his attack patterns are more varied and he keeps switching between them rather than repeatedly resetting back to Mortal Draw and jumping sweep attack.

The phase 3 here actually feels like phase 3 unlike vanilla which just gets trivialised by lightning reversal.

From your aggressiveness, your perfect deflects (the one mind deflection was beautiful), to your excellent use of combat arts and tools, it created a spectacle I couldn't pull my eyes away from. I was so excited when you won, even though I knew you would.

Ever thought of using those red lumps you have stored up? Combine it with rice/snow and the sugar that increases your strength but cuts your life in half. And EMP Mortal Draw. Took less than 2 minutes

I had played sekiro for quite some time and stopped, recently i discovered this video and just had to try it, installed this mod, spent half a day getting abused by this devil, until i finally beated him...I was already impressed by the skills displayed here, but you don't really get it until you actually fight Ultimate Isshin, what this man is doing here is absolute insanity, he extracts every possible bit of every fraction of second he is given to go on the offensive, not to mention the perfection of the sabimaru/poison dodges and the timing of the shadowfall, truly no hesitation
I've watched every single one of your videos and I learned so much from you. This fight is definitely my favorite. Keep up the good work!! I would love to see more Sekiro content from you 😁

Man you are so insane , block dodging , umbrella blocks, shinobi arts... all of these combined with this great mod for Isshin just makes this video feel like the ultimate fight possible. I don't think I'll see anything as spectacular as this video in a while, not saying that you won't make great content anymore just that this is a work of art . Favorite Sekiro content by far well done!

This is worth to watch...the skill animation, the audio and your god-tier gameplay was just absolutely stunning...what an epic battle
Every time you use a different Shinobi Tool that smooth and perfectly, and make it as it is a "normal combo" AND as an evasive maneuver.
For example, at 1:11 the rapid deflect into poison blade into evasion is so satisfying. It's like QTB (Quickturnboosting) in Armored Core: for Answer to outmaneuver enemy.
It's come down to both experience, skill, and familiarity.
Sometime those fancy maneuver are great, Otsdarva.

Masterpiece! Best From Software game by far! Greatest story, incredible gameplay, intense and fair fights, awesome map, glorious Bosses.
I enjoy this video. Might be the best MOD of Isshin ever, every attack Isshin uses has reached a sweet point between 'reasonable' and 'flexing', which means not boring nor too exaggerated. And I like the holding position at 3:17 that increases the intensity of the fight, thank you ONGBAL.
