  • After many long evenings constructing the layout from my Hotel Room in Devon, "Argonne Forest" my WW1 009 Scale Micro Layout is finally ready for it's first running session.
    Motive powder is provided by two Bachmann Baldwin 10-12-D 4-6-0T's, both fitted with Digitrains Digital Sound. These sound fitted models combined with period rolling stock (as seen on "Amiens 1918") really bring the whole scene to life, and show that you don't need a large space or room to build a model railway.
    In this video we see a hive of active with supplies being brought up to the rail-head and bunkers, with returning trains carrying relieved troops from the front.

    Superb! Just goes to show that you don't need a fancy workshop filled with tools and gadgets. If you have the skill you can build a great model railway anywhere! You've got me thinking about making my own 009 layout now 😁

    Hello Callum , the layout is looking fantastic , I am quite old fashioned , so I find it amazing that a sound decoder can be fitted in such a tiny loco , but it sets everything off beautifully , stay safe , all the best , Stephen .

    Hi Callum, great video and a really nice layout. I've been watching the build with great interest as I'm planning on doing a 009 layout myself at some point in the future. It will also be my first layout and if I can get it to look half as good as yours I'll be pleased.

    Brilliant Callum, It looks so good. I really think you should open up the other end of the fiddle yard onto Amiens 1918. It would be an optional thing to run them as solo or connected layouts. This is very well done, thanks for sharing it. Stay safe. David.

    Fantastic, be really nice if Bachmann would bring out the WW1 Hunslet, get a bit of British steam. As this is an American set layout I understand the Baldwin's being there.

    • @SDJR7F88
      @SDJR7F88  Před 4 lety +1

      I would certainly get one of those! However, the funny thing is these Baldwin's are British, and are technically wrong for this US layout. The Baldwin 4-6-0T replaces the Hunslets as the main WDLR locos, as they were quicker and cheaper to build. The USA forces opted for Baldwin's too, but they were 2-6-2T's, so really I should have one of those running on here ;)
