Theo is just perfect for Henry, oh my God I can't express how great of a casting this was. Most people don't agree but I absolutely loved Rose as well, I didn't picture her when I read the book but once she was announced, I really loved it. She's doing amazing on the show and I love her as Clare.

Re: casting of Rose as Clare - I find her to be a little too sassy for how I pictured Clare 😆😆. Way too much sarcasm and rhetoric for what I pictured in my head. 🤣😆 This is what happens when you form an emotional attachment to characters in a book. A show comes out and you spend your time analysing, comparing and criticising what they got right and wrong in the show compared to your imaginings.
I also did not like the casting for Gomez. I imagined this obnoxious pretty boy in tacky Hawaiian shirts and sandy hair, incredibly intelligent, could get any girl in town except the one he truly wanted. He didn’t care that he didn’t fit in the environment or what others thought of him. He spoke his mind, was opinionated, territorial and dismissive of others. I also didn’t like the story they’ve spun for Clare’s love explorations. It changes the dynamics of the strength of the friendship that in the book is dependable and loyal.
I loved them both as Claire and Henry ! They were wonderful,and the series was so well done, I am so sad the second season was canceled! 😱😭😭😭😭😭😭

These actors were fantastic and their chemistry was off the charts. I hope more people watch this beautiful show so it could pick up another series.
I've been married 33 years we have weathered a lot of storms our son was ill with a rare life threatening illness for the first 11 years of his life. Absolutely! My hubby and I have been married 17 years. During his chemo the nurses always commented on how much we chatted and laughed together. There’s no such thing as a perfect relationship but it does take two people to make it work and both be 100% committed to what life can throw at you.

Can’t do British accent ?? The British language was before the American English, he’s English and she’s Scottish. I love their languages. I’m a Norwegian living in Spain.

For anyone watching this show, other than Theo who is great, who would you cast in this role ? What other actor can you see in this role, as far as the whole redeemed jerk, and obviously Theo has the physicality, but also can do the whole nudity thing that's also a comedy aspect of the show.
Theo is perfect as Henry. For Claire I would have chosen someone like Rachelle Lefevre or even Bella Thorne… the guy they’ve chosen for Gomez is SO wrong. He’s meant to be a pretty boy who is more into himself than the people around him.
@@Vin-og2dj That would have been cool, if the character that was supposed to be a pretty boy was actually an attractive actor, the only thing better than two atrractive young men is two in a cast 😜. My question wasn't meant like if Theo wasn't good for the role. Are there any other actors you can think of in that role or no ?

Why didn't they keep their British accents for this series? It would be so much better.
I love their accents, but I think the problem is that the story is set in Chicago and both characters are said to have grown up in the US, so It would take a major rewrite to explain it to the audience.

I just want to put this out there and I normally don’t comment on CZcams anyway but I do if I really have something to say, so I and I don’t know if anyone else is starting to want to know more about the casting of the directing and how it was made in the storyline because it makes the movie so much more and if I’m gonna waste my time or get involved with a movie or a show I wanna know the backstory does anyone else feel this way because I talk and I talk there movies on my gosh my boyfriend and my dad sometimes does it too and I think that’s where I get it so 0:33 😂🎉😅

she is. she’s scottish royalty but her upbringing and education has left her with more of a posh english accent than a scots one. it comes out more when she’s there though.
LOVE him as Henry. She was definitely not what I pictured as Claire. I pictured more of a Botticellian type of Claire with flowing curls...
the movie with Eric Bana and whatshername was horrendous. Completely butchered the book. The tv series is a little more closer to the book.

It's HBO, David Nutter (director of Game of Thrones) and adapted by Steven Moffat. Great team. Also Henry is a challenging role that shows Theo's range as an actor. Another bitter Sandition fan, then.
