    I've been using this laser at work for the past 6 months and love it so much that I bought my own. I've used the HILTI, Bosch, and PLS lasers and this is hands down THE BEST 3 plane laser on the market.

    I have this laser. just a note about the size of the case. it does seem to be oversized but if you purchased the optional detector to go with it (DW0892G) the case is already set up to accommodate the sensor, bracket for the sensor to mount to a grade rod, and even a place for a spare 9V battery. ( the sensor takes a 9V battery) I find this to be quite handy to have everything all in one case. so its good planning ahead as far as that goes, for those who purchased the sensor as well. also, there is a place in the case for a spare 12v battery for the laser itself if you wanted to keep an extra in the case. it does however only come with a single battery. my only complaint about this laser is i wish it had a fine adjustment set-up. otherwise, i am very happy with it.

      Hello! I just purchased this laser and detector. I went to use it outside and the detector doesn't seems to pick up the laser unless I'm 5 feet or closer to the laser. Did you experience anything like this?

    • @ryankershaw647
      @ryankershaw647 Před 3 lety

      @@matthewzook1859 I did have a bit of trouble getting it to find the detector on a bright sunny day at 40 feet while laying out a garage foundation. It did seem harder than i thought at that distance but at 5 feet you should have no trouble at all. make sure the battery in the detector is good and that the laser is turned in such a way that the corner posts of the laser housing are not interfering with your line. I have used mine outside, of several projects and I have always managed to get the detector to pick up the beam. I Have noticed it is much easier indoors though, which is why i think the bright sunlight may play a part. not sure,...that has just been my experience.

    this suffer's from the same problem i have noticed with all DeWalt laser : even when brand new they either off they'r calibration margin or really close to being off. Bosh lasers that i have checked seem to perform better at keeping the calibration over time.
    and then Hilti makes them close to or perfectly calibrated (but then they shit the bed and make a battery lid being hold by 2 plastic rods each about 1 mm thick)

    Just bought this laser yesterday. love that it is green, love that it does a true 360 in all axis. problems with this laser? the accuracy, which i scoffed at when reading on the box, ( i have hilti spinners, and they are only guaranteed 5/8 in 100 ft, although most of them are dead on). i suggest anyone buying this laser to check its level. it was out a staggering inch and a quarter in 120 ft. which, is par for the course for little dewalt palm lasers, but not acceptable for a 700 dollar laser (canadian) . actually quite astonishing. actually, relooking at the box, it simply says accuracy 1/8. which in this case would be over 10 ft. which is about par to the base model dewalt laser.
    and , as someone else has stated, the loss of the fine accuracy adjustment is a huge loss, trying to line this up over 120 ft is near impossible now
    but hey, green

      Have been using it daily for a few months now. Dewalt eventually swapped the horrifically out of level level for one with one of the glass panes flawed. Once again, it was a problem that affected only the horizontal level use, which I don't use. I probably put it thru it's biggest test in the sun last week, working directly on the sunny side of a building aand trying to pick it up over 100 ft vertically. It did not pass that test. That was the first time I have had a visibility issue. Oddly enough, the reason why I couldn't see it in the sun is the fact the line is so fine, which is also a huge benefit of it. Even my big bitch hilti green beam has a problem on the harsh sun, so I can't degrade it too much for disappearing. I do grid, and I use the vertical 90 all day every day. It's a damn good laser

  • @darkknighte
    @darkknighte Před 8 lety +1

    Hi. I just bought one of these. Inside the box was a 1"x3.5" steel bar...the dewalt customer service people had no idea what it was for, do you? There's a little hole in one corner of it.
    Also the instructions on this unit are terrible. There's a paper about the danger of batteries, and a little piece about the parts of the laser, but nothing about how to use it for different applications. Dewalt told me to go to youtube to find it. (gee thanks for passing the buck). your video does a great job of explaining the features, but do you know where to find information about how to actually use it for grade readings, squaring up a room etc. I'd like to be sure to know how to best use the tool.
    Dewalt dropped the ball there.

    • @darkknighte
      @darkknighte Před 8 lety

      +A Concord Carpenter No it's not part of the bracket, that's a big metal piece. Here's what it looks like. It was in a little paper brochure that showed what accessories you can use with the level.
      It's just a little 1x3.5" piece with a hole in the corner. Not sure how to upload a picture of it here.

    • @ibrazeau3044
      @ibrazeau3044 Před 6 lety +1

      You put it between the back bracket magnets of the laser and ceiling holder...it acts as a slider between the magnets and the steel flat bar of the holder... and tata, you have a height adjustable laser on the ceiling bracket. Or else, the magnets are so strong they don't slide on the holder.

      At 1:27 you can see this "cross mark"; it's the one on the table (ground), not the wall. I'd like to know if that "cross" is also illuminated on the spot directly above it (plumb) on the ceiling.

    when are tool developers going to hire actual carpenters or just people in trade, not from youtube, not from ‘look I made a plate protector for mom’ home hobby garages, and shut their mouth and ask the tradesman what he wants? If they did so they would figure out that everybody uses 18v batteries, not 10,8 not 12v EIGTHEEN Volt!!! And you are damn right!! It all has to do with effiency. Why would constanly run about and look for a spare socket to attach yet another charger?? The answer.. You dont!! Therefore if we are not talking a constant going rotationslaser tradesmen disregard these kind of lasers. Make it 18v you mororns!!!
