A tip for Holly with revision is to make mind maps, as well I used a whiteboard and made mind blurts - have blank and try and write all you can on the board and then fill in the details you miss - I’ve just finished GCSE’s.
Hope your all okay after Jessie, sending lots of love and support

im in year 10, about to go into year 11, i would recommend for holly that when revising do 25 minutes of revision but always follow it with at least a 10 minute break then get back to revising. this helps her stop feeling overwhelmed about what she has to get done xxx

Good luck with the exams Holly! I always found I had to use different revision techniques depending on what I was learning/the subject so I think it’s all about finding ways that work for you! Everyone is different and what works for someone else might not work for you and vice versa. Biggest tip of all though, never forget how amazing you are ❤️

I recently finished my A-levels the biggest tips I would give someone are flashcards and mindmaps (esspecially for visualising everything) and slightly a different one but teaching to someone what you are learning, I find it helps associate the information with something which makes it more interesting and for me at least remember more. I also liked blurting (writing everything you can remember down, it helps show gaps in knowledge) If holly enjoys post-it-notes I like leaving them around my house, to read esspecially if things are hard to remember Hope this helps and good luck holly 😊 You have plenty of time to figure out what works for you, I’ve tried so much over the years and it took me ages, just try things out and see what works for you !!! I love your channel it has kept me going honestly ❤

A revision technique called ‘Blurting’ worked very well for me at school! It’s where you write down everything you can remember about a small subject, and then with a different colour pen, look at your notes and fill in what you missed. And you repeat this until you’ve learnt it all!! Hope this helps Holly 💓

  • @MaisieRichardson-uh4sx
    @MaisieRichardson-uh4sx Před 2 měsíci +1

For my exams I find BLURTING the best! You write down everything you can remember off the top of your head, then look through your notes and fill in what you forgot in a different coloured pen. From that you can make post its on what you couldn’t remember and use them to revise!

However all the advice I can give is just to stay motivated to revise because the results from it are rewarding🥳 personally I go over every topic in a class e.g history and then write questions for everything I need to know for the exam then test myself on those questions each day running up till the exam so that im confident going into it 😄 luv the vid guys!!!

I was so bad at revising but when I went to college and someone told me if I explain what I’ve learned to someone who doesn’t know anything about it then it’ll stick in your head better and honestly it worked.. write revision cards and then go over and over it.. then explain it to someone (parent/friend) over and over! Teacher here but did French A Level ages ago. Stick up vocab everywhere so whilst you’re brushing your teeth/ doing makeup there’s vocab on the mirror. Revising without realising you’re doing it and you’ll take it in subconsciously through repetition and make most of structured time. Also stick
Revision cards in your pockets so whilst you’re at the dentist for example and have a few minutes spare you can pull them out and read through them.

Try different ways of revising to find the one that's best for u as some achools aren't the best at showing different ways to revise like my schl said to only use mind maps but that didn't work for the majority of students just didn't revise and when it comes to starting the GCSE course start revising ASAP that was my biggest regret when doing my GCSEs this yr I struggled so much because I had 3 years of content to revise in like 4 months

In year 11 and ive just finished all my exams but my stats one on monday so wish me good luck but for Hollys revision for the subjects i also do, i’d say:
English- Stay on top of your notes and make sure you learn your quotes like even it’s just fifteen minutes every day learning quotes. daily: learn quotes, weekend bulk revision: learn analysis
Maths: Practice, practice, practice! In school pay attention and go over the content like a good number of times but nothing will ensure you remember the content better then exam practice cuz the you find out the stuff you’ve forgotten to learn, the stuff you’ve learnt well or not well etc and also how to apply each piece of content. That’s what’s got me to go from 58-68/80 to 75-80/80 this year in my mock exams especially because our school have been doing weekly friday mock exams since december.
Science- personally as someone who’s finished science, i’m still figuring out how to revise for it but one beautiful website is cognito and it really helps. Also learning mark schemes cuz loads of questions repeat and it’ll also teach you what examiners are looking for cuz the harsh thing for science is that sometimes you can get everything scientifically correct when you answer the question and the answer is right but if you’ve missed out just one word you won’t get the mark for it so mark schemes really do help.
History- Just stay on top of your revision and learning. like don’t leave it last minute cuz what my year realised is that we revise just whatever is part of our revision list for the exam rather than everything so there’s a lot of things we tell ourselves we don’t understand when if we just learned everything the pieces in the puzzles will be fixed if you get what i mean but yeah and then by year 10 and 11 focus on practicing answers.
Computer science: same as maths tbf
RS/ RE: Learn quotes and write model answers for every possible question cuz it won’t be too hard to do eventhough it might seem it is. Don’t plan for four markers or five markers, just twelve markers and then if it comes in as a four marker just adapt it from your twelve marker plans. Also make a quote bank cuz thatd make sure you don’t learn quotes you know you’d never use especially if that quote doesn’t match to your plan model essays
I dont do geography and did urdu and arabic for languages so i don’t think that’ll help. I also did citizenship and stats but i don’t think you do that but i’m not sure

I've just finished my alevel exams and I found the best way to revise was blurting - writing everything you remember for the topic then going in with another colour things you cannot remember! :)

a tip for holly coming from holly is to make flashcards and keep testing yourself until you can get them all right and write stuff onto a whiteboard and do practice papers

I always make mind maps and then put it to the side and then use a whiteboard and try to write down everything you remember and then go back over in a different colour pen and see what you have missed
