    Always top shelf techniques at Cranford judo
    My sons who are judo players and wrestlers have trained with Sensei Nick and his son for years
    The knowledge and skills they have learned
    Are the BEST and have served them well in both sports 👍👍💯

    I've seen the drop OGoshi and it's a great throw especially against these bjj guys

    Hi Nick..
    After doing bjj for a number of years i can really appreciate your instructions here, its interesting how your move factors in the mma aspect, the technique in its original form opens the neck for a choke as you pointed out and is apparent , however the alternate version pretty much cancels it out..
    Keep up the great work and Jack really good from your end too

    I have found in the past some times if my arm had one arm or sleeve and the other around the opponents neck or shoulder snd I failed to break thier balance, I could pull them slightly forward and drop straight down into a scarf hold.

    It would be interesting maybe to show some counters when you are being thrown and your opponent has given you his back like putting your knee between the legs or others so you are not thrown. Thank you for teaching skill and knowledge. I wish I had your degree of skill in judo, thaks

    Terrific video ... so practical and powerful. Would the mechanics be
    similar in a drop tai otoshi? I'd love to see a video on drop tai otoshi
    if you'd be open to doing one of course!

    • @nickyonezuka-cranfordjkc4931
      @nickyonezuka-cranfordjkc4931  Před 2 lety +1

      Yes similar but with drop tai Otoshi you put the left knee down. I made a drop tai Otoshi with Gi, which you can check and a tai Otoshi with no Gi. I will also probably make a drop tai Otoshi no Gi also.

      @@nickyonezuka-cranfordjkc4931 Thanks so much ... I'll check out the gi version of drop tai otoshi you made and that should be fine as you've already show grip differences (which was huge for me btw)

    Hi Coach, is this throw effective in freestyle wrestling against a low bent over stance?

  • @CarlLee5355
    @CarlLee5355 Před 2 lety

    I was wondering, what’s the kuzushi for this throw? Some people tell me that I tilt him a little bit to the side where am grabbing his wrist or elbow but I see that you’re only pulling him down with the collar tie to lower his center of gravity.

    • @nickyonezuka-cranfordjkc4931
      @nickyonezuka-cranfordjkc4931  Před 2 lety

      It’s a little of both but the quicker you can drop in front in this position is more important than the kuzushi as it would be if you did standing Ogoshi.
