Crate has been trying to make Aether/Lightning builds a thing since before the first expansion. It's always been in a bit of an odd place, but it's nearly been viable at some points. This might finally tip that over the edge. Probably only as a faster though.
As I recall, there is a three piece epic set that offers some conversions based around the concept. A couple of rings and an amulet I think?

Goredrinker. Will be nice to see more variety in bleed builds. Bloodrager is almost ubiquitous.

for sure, i would say that pierce is also in need of some variety, so I hope goredrinker is as good as i think it will be. 18% health is insane.

Oh yeah this is exactly what we need.

Heyo Otter, been watching your videos like crazy and they’re very informative, been a huge help.
One thing I’ve been wondering (that’s kind of offtopic for this video, but figured I’d ask anyway) when leveling, should I be prioritizing damage or resistances on my armor?
That is to say: if I find a piece with 0 of my chosen damage type, but a resistance I’m lacking, should I go for the resistance over the damage, even if the piece has nothing else that can benefit me?
While leveling this has always been my biggest point of confusion for sure.

99% of the time i think resistances is the way to go. Honestly, throughout normal and a huge chunk of elite, things die so quickly to base damages that you should really just have to worry about staying alive.

    Look fantastic?
They're just the same skin recolored 3 times...
I mean for 1 set it'd look pretty dope I like it, sure, but it's just... the same model but recolored.

    • @armoredotter2183
      @armoredotter2183  Před 3 lety +1

yeah, im down with the recolors + recycled aura effects layered on top. They're not groundbreaking by any means, but I dig em.

*sigh* I really want to like GD but man does it trying its best to make me hate it.
    1. There's too many items
    2. There's just too many stats on items
    3. Stats are written like poems of a lunatic
    - item stat!
    - augment stat!!
    - powder stat!!!
    - (optional) item granted skill description!!!!
    - (optional) set stat!!!!!
    4. All skills are bland and boring
    5. No specific multiclass skills to flavor it up a bit...
I'd give up on 10 new armor sets for 1 (ONE!) fun skill to use.

The best thing to enjoy grim dawn is forget that new stuff and just playing around. I even dont know new items since start at 2016 ago.

This is weird to me because a lot of your complaints are why people love the game. But then, I accepted that not everything is made just for me a long time ago.

It is probably not the game for you then.

@Dracoth Begone Not at all. I've been playing aRPGs since 1999. I wouldn't be here if I didn't like that game and cared for it...
I suspected that fans of the game will tell me exactly what couple of you said: Go play something else. Which is smart and good for the game...
If you think that impenetrable walls of text which require scrolling because they can't fit the screen are pinnacle of game presentation then we have very different aesthetic tastes.
I hardly think that people are playing the game because it has boring skills. Half of them are passive proc you have no control over and same goes for devotions.
I'm all for more options and customisation but in GD it always seem to go in passive direction (stat conversions). Example: Instead of summoning certain pet you get a branch which when ticked you shapeshift into that pet. Or Aether ray having multiple versions, standard version, short version but strong, arcing version but weaker. I'm just throwing random stuff out there but you get the meaning. To me that's more fun than stat conversions.
      *shrug*

I'm not gonna lie Crate learned a lot since TQ. Maybe you guys saw only negative in my original post but GD is much better product and there's much to be loved about it. Offline play? A fucking FEATURE in my book! I have D3 installed and can't bear to touch it. I played PoE in its early days and tried to come back to it a couple of times but it didn't work for me. That game moves and changes too fast for me.
I guess I like old school games like D2 and I'm laso playing Path of Diablo mod for it. Pretty faithful to the original yet different enough to feel fresh. Unlike MedianXL... :P
Thanks for pointing out that augment change! That stuff and my discovery of autoloot were god sent! :D
That's exactly the sort of fat that needs to be trimmed and imo there's still a lot of it. Like crafting a missing component from the window of a relic/item you want to make, instead of constantly changing tabs and scrolling...
GoG says I have sunk over 400 hrs into GD but I've played at least 3 times that on... ahem not so reputable versions of the game.
Anyway I still think there's lot of room for improvement in GD in terms of presentation and skill diversity and if they ever decide to make another expansion I'd be more than happy to shower them in gold! :D
